Nick Castellanos has been dropped to eighth in the Phillies’ lineup for Saturday’s game against the Marlins.
Castellanos is mired in an extended slump at the dish of late, batting .103 (3-for-29) with 11 strikeouts across seven games since September 1.

Jett Williams (quad) will return to spring training action on Thursday.
Williams, who came over from the Mets in the Freddy Peralta trade, has been out since February 23rd, when he injured his quad running out a triple. He was never likely to break camp with the Brewers, but he could be an option at shortstop of third base by the middle of the season.
Ohtani, Judge shining in WBC amid peak of careers
Dan Le Batard reflects on the days of United States-Japan exhibition games before debating Shohei Ohtani vs. Aaron Judge and the World Baseball Classic's place among international competitions.
  • LAA 1st Baseman #20
Angels reassigned INF Niko Kavadas, LHP Angel Perdomo, and RHP Jared Southard to minor league camp.
Kavadas hit 28 home runs in Triple-A last year, but he also slashed .235/.362/.479 with a 31 percent strikeout rate.Southard pitched to a 3.68 ERA in 66 innings split between Double-A and Triple-A last year, while Perdomo, who was signed in November, who was signed away from the Athletics this offseason, registered a 5.52 ERA in 14 2/3 Triple-A innings after returning from injury.
  • PIT 2nd Baseman #5
Brandon Lowe was scratched from Wednesday’s game with “lower body tightness.”
Lowe is “expected to go through a normal practice session” instead, so this doesn’t seem to be a major issue. However, it is something you should monitor over the next couple of days.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #50
Bryce Miller (oblique inflammation) will throw a “standard bullpen” on Wednesday.
A standard bullpen means that Miller will not just be throwing fastballs, but his full pitch mix. He has been sidelined since the end of February. If this bullpen goes well, Miller could return to spring games in the next week and potentially be ready to start the season. Given Miller is also dealing with bone spurs in his elbow that he pitched through last season, he remains a risky pick in fantasy baseball.
  • TB 1st Baseman #2
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Yandy Díaz (sore left hand) will return to spring training games on Friday.
Díaz will have been out about five or six days, so there is no real concern here. He remains a solid target in fantasy baseball if you’re looking for batting average and runs scored, but expect a clear power regression now that he is not playing in a minor league ballpark.
  • MIA Center Fielder
Marlins reassigned LHP Justin King, RHP Josh Ekness, and OFs Mathew Etzel, Brendan Jones, and Andrew Pintar to minor league camp.
None of the players are on the 40-man roster or rank inside Miami’s Top 30 prospects, according to MLB Pipeline. Pintar did have a solid 2025 season, posting a .269/.338/.384 slash line with 23 steals in 84 Triple-A games, and Etzel, who came over from the Rays for Nick Fortes, hit .275/.367/.363 in 31 games at Triple-A last season as well.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #60
Adam Mazur will undergo elbow surgery and miss the entire 2026 season.
The 24-year-old had been slated to fulfill a role as a swing man for Miami, but he will now be sidelined all season with an elbow injury. As of now, it’s unclear what kind of surgery Mazur will have, so his recovery timeline should be a bit clearer once that information becomes clear. When Mazur gets put on the 60-day injured list, it will open up a spot on the 40-man roster that the Marlins could choose to use on prospect Robby Snelling, who now seems like the possible sixth starter in Miami.
  • HOU Relief Pitcher #71
Astros manager Joe Espada confirmed that Josh Hader (biceps) will start the season on the injured list.
This was expected, but there was some hope after Hader said he “felt good” following his bullpen on Tuesday. Still, if you watched footage of that bullpen, Hader was clearly not letting the ball fly with the usual zip, and he’s still ramping up from an offseason shoulder issue and now his biceps issue. Hader could be back in the middle of April and return to his normal self, but it’s hard to feel optimistic that he makes it through the season without more trips to the IL given his multitude of arm issues. Bryan Abreu is the clear pivot here if you’re looking for early saves with the chance to hold onto the role if Hader isn’t fully healthy.
  • KC Right Fielder #14
Jac Caglianone went 2-for-2 with a two-run homer, a walk and a HBP in Team Italy’s 8-6 win over Team USA on Tuesday.
Perhaps the most incredible thing about Italy’s win tonight is the top five hitters in the lineup combined to go 0-for-22. It was Kyle Teel, Caglianone and Sam Antonacci from the sixth-through-eighth spots providing all of the offense, which each hitting a homer. The win moves Italy to 3-0 in Pool B play ahead of its game with Mexico on Wednesday. If Italy wins the game, it wins the pool and Team USA advances as the runnerup. If Mexico wins, it sets up a tiebreaker between the three clubs, with the two teams with the fewest runs allowed advancing. Ironically, Team USA’s furious late-inning comeback tonight probably hurt its chances of advancing, just because Italy churned through all of its best relievers and its bullpen will be lacking Wednesday.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #24
Michael Lorenzen shut out Team USA for 4 2/3 innings to earn a win for Italy on Tuesday.
Working on a pitch limit of 65, Lorenzen, last seen giving up four runs in 2 2/3 innings against the Brewers last week, was able to retire 14 batters, an extremely impressive accomplishment even if Team USA didn’t field its best lineup tonight. Lorenzen allowed two hits, walked one and struck out two. He’ll be able to pitch again if Team Italy can reach the semifinals.
