Henderson is the most significant regular resting after the O’s clinched the AL East on Thursday. Ramon Urias will make the start at third base while Cedric Mullins will hit leadoff and Austin Hays will bat sixth against righty Nick Pivetta.

Beavers needed this with playing time already becoming an issue. Although the Orioles have exclusively faced righties, the left-handed Beavers was on the bench on Opening Day and again Tuesday in the midst of a 1-for-9 start. His speed-and-power combination gives him intriguing fantasy potential, but he’s not going to be a mixed-league option unless he’s a fixture against righties.

He allowed six hits, walked one and struck out three. Rogers isn’t known as a groundball pitcher, but he’s done better there than usual in both of his starts thus far, allowing him to make up for a modest 8/5 K/BB through 13 innings. He’ll get the White Sox next.

Two things of note here. This was the first MLB game to end on an overturned challenge, as ball two to Evan Carter with two outs in the ninth was correctly changed to strike three by catcher Samuel Basallo. The other is that it’s Suárez’s first save in nine years, or five if you want to count the one he had in Japan in 2021. His only previous major league save came with the Giants in 2017.

The baseball gods have decided to get even with Eovaldi after letting him post a 1.73 ERA with a .243 BABIP last season. After two starts this year, he had a .481 BABIP and an 11.42 ERA. His velocity is fine and he’s managed to strike out 12 in 8 2/3 innings to date, so we wouldn’t worry much about him. He’ll face the Mariners next.

Basallo was all over Nathan Eovaldi today, starting off with a 107.7-mph single in the first. In the third, he had a 103.7-mph, 378-foot flyout, and then he fully connected in the fifth, drilling a ball 437 feet to dead center. That one left the bat at 109.5 mph. Basallo has thus far started five of the Orioles’ six games, including three at DH. The Orioles have yet to face a lefty and aren’t slated to for at least another week, so Basallo will remain worth using in mixed leagues. Weeks in which the Orioles face a couple of left-handers will make him a lesser option.

After getting Tuesday off, Jung managed three hard-hit balls today, including a 381-foot flyout. The 28-year-old had been 0-for-17 with seven strikeouts to open the year.

He will head to New York for the team’s home opener to meet with trainers and decide when he will throw his next side session. The 33-year-old is coming back from offseason surgery to remove bone spurs from his elbow, but his recovery has now been delayed due to hamstring tightness.

Baldwin got things going with a two-RBI single in the second inning and then followed that up with a 107.4 mph double that drove in two more in the fourth. His day could have been even bigger if it weren’t for Denzel Clarke. Baldwin crushed a 102.8 mph ball to dead center field in the seventh inning that would have been a home run if Clarke hadn’t scaled the wall to pull it back. So far, Baldwin is more than following up on his impressive rookie season.

Consider him day-to-day. Derek Hill took over in right field. Pereira struck out in both of his at-bats before departing.

Langeliers now have five home runs and eight RBIs in the first six games of the season. As Sarah Langs pointed out, those five home runs tied Gabby Harnett from 1925 as the most home runs for a primary catcher in his team’s first six games. It’s been an unreal start to the season for Langeliers, and he still has yet to play a home game in his hitter-friendly park in Sacramento.
