Mets signed OF Harrison Bader to a one-year, $10.5 million contract.
The deal is now official. Bader remains an elite defender in center field and still possesses 20-homer, 30-steal upside for fantasy managers, if his health cooperates. That’s not an insignificant risk as he was limited to just 98 contests this past season between the Yankees and Reds due to a series of oblique, hamstring and groin injuries. At just 29 years old, Bader remains in his physical prime, but it’s unclear whether he’ll manage to avoid the injured list, which limits his appeal to deeper mixed leagues. He’s a borderline top-75 fantasy outfielder heading into 2024 almost entirely due to injury risk.
