The Orioles announced on Wednesday that Kyle Bradish underwent successful Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery with an internal brace procedure on Wednesday in Dallas.
The 27-year-old right-hander will obviously miss the remainder of the 2024 season and will miss at least the first half of the 2025 campaign as well while recovering from the surgery. Fantasy managers in season-long leagues can safely cut bait now. He finishes the 2024 season with a 2.75 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a 53/15 K/BB ratio over 39 1/3 innings in his eight starts.

According to Evan Woodbery of MLive.com, Jackson Jobe is not expected to start either game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Orioles.
He also isn’t going to start on Sunday, as Tarik Skubal will stay on his regular schedule. It sounds like the Tigers are going to use Friday night’s rainout as a way to push Jobe back as they’re looking to manage his overall workload on the season and this seems like a prime opportunity to do so. Expect someone from Triple-A Toledo, probably Keider Montero, to start the second game on Saturday with Casey Mize taking the ball in Game 1.
Pirates' Heaney worth a fantasy rotation spot
Eric Samulski pops the hood on Andrew Heaney's impressive start for the Pittsburgh Pirates to explain why he's worth adding to fantasy rosters for spot-starts in good matchups.
  • TOR Center Fielder #5
Daulton Varsho (shoulder) is expected to make his highly-anticipated season debut with the Blue Jays on Tuesday.
There had been rumblings that Varsho could return at some point over the weekend — and that’s still in play for Sunday — but with weather in the forecast on Saturday the Blue Jays didn’t want to push it. He’ll remain at Triple-A Buffalo and serve as their designated hitter on Friday night.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher #39
Friday’s scheduled contest between the Red Sox and Guardians in Cleveland has been postponed due to inclement weather.
The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on Saturday. Expect Friday’s scheduled starters — Tanner Houck and Ben Lively — to each pitch at some point on Saturday. The first game will start at 1:10 PM and the second will begin at 6:10 PM.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #12
Friday’s scheduled ballgame between the Orioles and Tigers at Comerica Park has been postponed due to inclement weather in the forecast.
While it’s not raining yet in Motown, it’s expected to for most of the evening, so the club made the call to bag the game now and play a doubleheader on Saturday. Expect Friday’s probable starters — Casey Mize and Brandon Young — to each start one of Saturday’s games for their respective teams.
  • SEA Left Fielder #56
Randy Arozarena is not in the Mariners’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Marlins.
It’s the first day off on the season for the 30-year-old outfielder. Arozarena is performing about as expected to open the 2025 season, slashing .200/.363/.400 with four homers, 17 RBI and eight stolen bases in 113 plate appearances through his first 25 contests. Miles Mastrobuoni will start in his place in left field and bat seventh for the M’s against Cal Quantrill and the Marlins.
  • NYY 2nd Baseman #26
Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Friday that DJ LeMahieu (calf) will play in at least two more games on his minor league rehab assignment at Double-A Somerset.
Boone noted that LeMahieu will remain there through the weekend, but they have yet to determine how many games he’ll need in total before he’s ready to join the big league club. It sounds like the Yankees are going to continue to proceed cautiously here, with LeMahieu inching closer to a return every day.
  • ARI Starting Pitcher #45
Diamondbacks recalled RHP Yilber Díaz from Triple-A Reno.
Díaz, 24, made seven appearances (four starts) for the Diamondbacks in 2024, compiling a 3.81 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and a 19/12 K/BB ratio across 28 1/3 innings. He’ll give the D’Backs another quality bullpen option that’s capable of working multiple innings.
  • ARI Relief Pitcher #61
Diamondbacks optioned RHP J.P. Feyereisen to Triple-A Reno.
The 32-year-old right-hander made two appearances with the D’Backs, giving up two runs on three hits while striking out a pair in his two innings of work. He’ll continue to function as extra bullpen depth at the Triple-A level. Yilber Diaz was recalled from Triple-A Reno to take his place in the Diamondbacks’ bullpen.
  • STL Catcher #48
Ivan Herrera (knee) hopes to begin a minor league rehab assignment before the end of next week.
When the 24-year-old backstop initially suffered the bone bruise in his left knee, the expectation was that he would miss at least a month’s worth of action. We’re about three weeks out right now, which would seem to put him on track if he is indeed able to return to game action at some point next week. It’s unclear how many games he’ll need to get into before the Cardinals are ready to bring him back though. Those counting on Pedro Páges for everyday at-bats may soon need to look elsewhere.
  • KC Relief Pitcher
Royals optioned LHP Evan Sisk to Triple-A Omaha.
The 28-year-old southpaw made two appearances during his time with the Royals, allowing two hits and a pair of walks over two scoreless innings. He’ll almost assuredly get another opportunity with the big league club before the summer is through. Jonathan Bowlan was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move on Friday.
