Wow. Heyman says the Burnes can opt out after two years. It sounded like Burnes and the Giants were a match, but it seems San Francisco couldn’t come up with the money. He’s a huge get for an Arizona team that is very well set in the rotation now with Burnes, Zac Gallen, Merrill Kelly, Eduardo Rodriguez and Brandon Pfaadt. One wonders if the club might part with Gallen for offense, opening up a spot for Jordan Montgomery or Ryne Nelson.

Arozarena’s home run was his 26th of the season. He hit a solo shot off Jose Quintana in the third inning. Arozarena has hit 11 of his 26 home runs this year against left-handed pitching despite having nearly 260 more plate appearances against right-handed pitching. He’s hitting .281 with an .861 OPS and 76 RBI this year.

Raleigh’s home run was his 23rd of the season. He hit a two-run shot off Jose Quintana in the first inning. Raleigh’s home run, which was reminiscent of his 2025 season, traveled 459 feet and had an exit velocity of 111.7 mph. One year after challenging Aaron Judge for the AL MVP award, he’s hitting .184 with a .673 OPS and 68 RBI this year.

Miller gave up four hits, walked two and struck out six. He didn’t complete six innings or get the win, but no earned runs allowed and six strikeouts at Coors Field is still impressive. Miller lowered his ERA to 3.99 on the year. He’s not currently scheduled to start again, but could wind up piggybacking Emerson Hancock’s start against the Angels at home next weekend.

Quintana gave up five hits, walked one and struck out two. After only throwing 2 1/3 innings in his last rehab start, Quintana completed four innings and threw 70 pitches in his first start since going on the injured list four months ago with a sprained elbow. Quintana has a 5.40 ERA this year and doesn’t need to be rostered in most fantasy leagues. He’s lined up to face his former team the White Sox next weekend.

Paredes’ home run was his 22nd of the season. He hit a solo shot off Grant Holmes in the first inning. Paredes has five home runs in 17 games in September so far. He’s hitting .261 with a .796 OPS and 90 RBI this year.

Acuña’s home run was his 20th of the season. He hit a grand slam off Bryan Abreu in the seventh inning. Acuña has four home runs and 10 RBI over his last seven games. He’s hitting .259 with an .815 OPS and 55 RBI this year.

Iglesias’ save was his 34th of the season. He’s had another great year even after the Braves’ offseason signing of Robert Suarez, who got four saves and hasn’t pitched since June. Iglesias has a 2.64 ERA and has shown no signs of slowing down at age-36.

Wesneski gave up four hits, walked three and struck out three. He bounced back after only lasting three innings in his previous start. Wesneski has completed at least five innings in five of his last six starts. He has a 3.50 ERA. Wesneski is lined up to face the Athletics on the road next weekend.

Bachar will start despite throwing an inning tonight in his first relief appearance since Aug. 26. Antwone Kelly will also likely figure prominently against the Royals.

Holmes gave up eight hits, walked none and struck out four. He improved to 10-5 with the win. Holmes has struck out more than four batters once in his last eight starts, though he has a 2.95 ERA in that span. He has a 3.47 ERA on the season. Holmes is lined up to face the Marlins on the road this weekend.
