Dodgers optioned RHP J.P. Feyereisen to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Feyereisen heads back to Triple-A to make room for Landon Knack. Feyereisen should be up and down throughout the 2025 campaign as long as the Dodgers keep him on the 40-man roster.

Zac Gallen (elbow) threw a 33-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday.

Gallen was cleared to resume throwing in late July after hitting the injured list with elbow inflammation just prior to the All-Star break. He’s going to need at least a couple additional weeks to build up his arm strength and pitch count before returning to Arizona’s rotation mix. This is a step in the right direction.

Corbin Burnes (shoulder) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo indicated that Burnes could return shortly after the beginning of September, which gives him a chance to make a handful of starts over the final month. The 31-year-old former fantasy ace would’ve returned from Tommy John surgery sometime around midseason had he not suffered a shoulder injury during his rehabilitation process.

Riley Greene was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Guardians after being hit by a pitch.

Greene was lifted for a defensive replacement in the third inning after being hit by a pitch on the shin earlier in the contest. The removal appears to be precautionary in nature since he remained in the game after the hit-by-pitch and scored from first on a Spencer Torkelson double later in the frame. He’ll likely undergo X-rays to ensure that he didn’t suffer any fractures. There should be an update on his status following the contest.

Kyle Tucker is in right field and hitting cleanup against the Royals on Tuesday.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is shaking things up by moving Freddie Freeman up to the second spot in the order with Andy Pages following and Tucker in the cleanup spot. Max Muncy and Mookie Betts remain in the middle of the lineup with Teoscar Hernández on the bench.

Dodgers activated LHP Blake Snell from the 60-day injured list.

Snell makes his return to Los Angeles’ rotation with a start against the Royals on Tuesday following a three-month absence after undergoing surgery to remove loose bodies from his elbow back in May. The 33-year-old southpaw’s checkered injury history remains an omnipresent concern for fantasy managers. However, he should be an impactful contributor, especially in the strikeout department, over the final six-plus weeks of the season.

Dodgers optioned LHP Charlie Barnes to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Barnes didn’t end up making an appearance for the Dodgers after being brought back to the majors prior to Monday’s game. The 30-year-old has given up 11 runs over 13 innings during five appearances in the majors this year.

Dodgers transferred RHP Blake Treinen to the 60-day injured list.

It’s a procedural move to create a roster spot for starter Blake Snell. The 38-year-old veteran reliever has been out with elbow inflammation since late June. He’ll be on the shelf until at least late August.

Dalton Rushing (elbow) told reporters he doesn’t anticipate needing surgery to address his UCL injury.

Rushing added that he doesn’t have a return timetable yet, but has already progressed to swinging a bat, and is optimistic he’ll be able to resume catching before the end of the season. The 25-year-old former top prospect was diagnosed with a UCL tear in his throwing elbow earlier this month. His return would help shore up Los Angeles’ catching situation heading into the postseason.

Chase Meidroth (wrist) is out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Reds.

Meidroth told reporters that he isn’t dealing with a potential hamate issue after hurting his left wrist on a swing last week. He’s out of the lineup for the second straight game with Sam Antonacci drawing another start at the keystone in his absence. It’s possible he’ll require a trip to the injured list if he isn’t showing any improvement later this week.

Joey Ortiz (neck) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Padres.

Ortiz remains out for the third consecutive game due to a lingering neck issue. All indications are that he’s making progress and figures to be available off the bench in this one, if needed. It’ll be Brice Turang handling shortstop with Jihwan Bae getting a look at the keystone. It’s Turang’s first appearance at shortstop since the 2023 campaign.
