Eli Willits told Wolf Blitzer of CNN that he will sign with the Nationals on Saturday.

First, who had Wolf Blitzer breaking the news? Willits was the first-overall pick of the 2025 MLB Draft, and the 17-year-old shortstop will need at least a couple of years of minor-league action before he’s ready to play at the highest level. He has a chance for four plus tools and to contribute in every fantasy category, however, so fantasy managers need to add Willits in keeper formats as soon as possible.

Bericoto had been shelved since late August due to a bone bruise in his right knee that he suffered after running into the outfield wall in Boston. He’ll replace the injured Nate Furman (oblique) on the Giants’ bench.

That will unfortunately end the 29-year-old right-hander’s season prematurely. Webb finishes the 2026 campaign with a 4.31 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and a 134/41 K/BB ratio over 160 2/3 innings in his 27 starts. He obviously has plenty of time to overcome the blister issue before the start of the 2027 season.
