Fulmer landed on the injured list on August 24 due to inflammation in his right elbow. While there’s still no clear timetable for his return, he’s obviously not going to make it back before the end of the season, so putting him on the 60-day IL to free up a spot on the team’s 40-man roster makes sense.

Aaron Judge was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his right rib cage and will be reevaluated in 4-6 weeks.

The Yankees said that Judge “is expected to return at some point this season.” Still, he’s pretty clearly done through the All-Star break at least and quite possible until August. This probably means more José Caballero in right field and Anthony Volpe at shortstop for now. Once Jasson Domínguez comes off the IL, he could get a chance to play regularly in the outfield.

Brewers’ skipper Pat Murphy told reporters after Thursday’s game that X-rays on the injured forearm of right-hander Grant Anderson came back negative for any fractures.

Anderson was pulled from Thursday’s game after he was struck on the forearm by a line drive off the bat of Bryce Eldridge in the seventh inning. Fortunately, he was able to avoid any serious injury and merely suffered a bruised forearm. He’s considered day-to-day.

DL Hall

MIL Relief Pitcher #37

Brewers’ left-hander DL Hall is set to undergo an MRI exam after exiting Thursday’s outing against the Giants.

Hall told manager Pat Murphy that his subscapular and pectoral muscles were hurting him, so the Brewers will get some imaging done to see exactly what’s going on there. While the severity of the issue is not yet known, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the 27-year-old hurler wind up on the injured list here.

BOS Relief Pitcher #66

Red Sox acquired LHP Joe La Sorsa from the Pirates for cash considerations.

The 28-year-old southpaw exercised the upward mobility clause in his minor league deal with the Pirates, so the Bucs either had to trade him or grant him his release. La Sorsa is expected to join the Red Sox’ active roster on Friday, with right-hander Brayan Bello expected to be optioned to Triple-A Worcester to free up a spot.

BOS Starting Pitcher #66

Dan Roche of WBZ-TV reports that the Red Sox plan to option struggling right-hander Brayan Bello to Triple-A Worcester.

The 27-year-old hurler was roughed up for six runs in the first inning on Thursday’s start against the Orioles and that appears to have been the last straw. He holds a miserable 6.34 ERA and a 1.67 WHIP over 61 innings in 12 appearances with the Red Sox this season. Bello will attempt to work through his issues as a starter at the Triple-A level for the time being. Joe La Sorsa is expected to be added to the roster in his place on Friday once that deal becomes official.

Rangers optioned OF Alejandro Osuna to Triple-A Round Rock.

The 23-year-old outfielder held his own during his time with the big league club, slashing a respectable .253/.376/.275 with zero homers, nine RBI and four stolen bases in 110 plate appearances with the Rangers. His demotion likely means that Wyatt Langford will be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Friday’s contest.

Joe La Sorsa

According to Ari Alexander of 7News Boston, the Red Sox have an agreement in place to acquire left-hander Joe La Sorsa from the Pirates.

The 28-year-old southpaw trigged the upward mobility clause in his contract with the Pirates, meaning that they had to either trade him or grant him his unconditional release. The Pirates will receive cash considerations in return. La Sorsa has compiled a 3.46 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a 22/6 K/BB ratio over 26 innings at Triple-A Indianapolis this season.

Maikel Garcia (hamstring) remains out of the Royals’ lineup for Thursday night’s contest against the Twins.

It’s the fifth consecutive game that Garcia has missed since suffering a hamstring strain over the weekend. The good news is that he has been making steady improvements and will be available off the bench on Thursday. The expectation now is that he returns to the team’s starting lineup at some point over the weekend and is able to avoid a stint on the injured list.

Jung Hoo Lee

SF Right Fielder #51

Jung Hoo Lee went 4-for-5 with a double and three runs scored as the Giants topped the Brewers 12-9 on Thursday.

Lee has remained hot since his 11-hit outburst at Coors Field over the weekend, going 8-for-14 in the four games against the Brewers. He’s all of the way up to fourth in the majors with his .322 average, putting him just behind teammate Luis Arraez in third place at .325.

Adrian Houser

SF Starting Pitcher #12

Adrian Houser was lifted with a three-run lead after allowing three runs — two earned — in 4 1/3 innings Thursday against the Brewers.

Houser allowed one run in four innings before giving up a double, a homer and another double with one out in the fifth. The Giants didn’t trust him to get through the inning at that point, denying him a chance to qualify for the win. It’s the third straight outing in which Houser has failed to complete five innings, and he remains 2-5 with a 5.49 ERA overall. He’s due to make his next start Tuesday against the Nationals.
