Bickford spent the spring in major league camp with the Tigers but never actually pitched due to a triceps strain. The 30-year-old hurler is now free to explore other opportunities if he so chooses.

Cody Bradford

TEX Relief Pitcher #61

Cody Bradford (elbow) will make a minor league rehab start at Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.

The 28-year-old southpaw continues to work his way back from internal brace surgery. The expectation is that Bradford will be ready to rejoin the Rangers before the end of May, with a strong likelihood that he’ll work out of the bullpen initially rather than jumping right into the starting rotation.

Steward Berroa

MIL Right Fielder #35

Brewers activated OF Steward Berroa from the 10-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Nashville.

Berroa opened the season o the injured list with a right shoulder strain that he suffered during spring training. He has already been rehabbing at Triple-A Nashville, so he’ll remain there in an everyday role until he’s needed at the big league level.

Konnor Griffin

PIT Shortstop #85

ESPN’s Buster Olney reports the Pirates will sign SS Konnor Griffin to a nine-year, $140 million extension.

Olney adds that the two sides are still finalizing the contract. The sport’s best prospect appears to be settling in for a long stay by the Allegheny. The easy comparison is to the eight-year, $130 million deal that Roman Anthony signed in August. We expect Griffin to be in a high spot in the order on Friday during his debut, and he should be a mainstay for the Pirates for years to come based on the contract. He needs to be rostered in any leagues where he is still available.

Ryan Loutos

FA Relief Pitcher #52
Mariners released RHP Ryan Loutos.

Loutos had a 3.4 ERA for Triple-A Memphis in 2024 and managed a 3.50 ERA between three different Triple-A teams in 2025. He’ll look to catch on elsewhere. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that the 27-year-old could be a useful bullpen piece at some point.

Ryan Bliss

SEA 2nd Baseman #1

Mariners optioned 2B Ryan Bliss to Triple-A Tacoma.

Bliss appeared in only one of the Mariners first seven games of the season, striking out in his only two plate appearances. The 26-year-old lost most of last season to a biceps injury and will look to re-establish himself in Tacoma, where he hit .269/.377/.456 in 2024 as a 24-year-old.

J.P. Crawford

SEA Shortstop #3

Mariners activated J.P. Crawford from the 10-day injured list.

Crawford will likely make his season debut on Friday after missing most of spring training with a shoulder injury. With Brendan Donovan now stapled to the leadoff spot, it will be hard to justify Crawford in shallow mixed leagues between the limited homer and stolen base totals and a lower lineup spot. Still, Crawford’s a valuable player for the Mariners and it’s great news that he only missed minimal time on the injured list.

Sal Stewart

CIN 3rd Baseman #27

Sal Stewart said he’s “definitely open” to a long-term extension with the Reds.

Reds GM Nick Krall said he’s open to a long-term extension as well, though the key line here is probably “the parties haven’t discussed it and the team doesn’t appear to have any immediate plans to initiate talks with the season underway.” Stewart is hitting .474/.615/.947 on the young season and appears set to be a long-term fixture for the Reds at the corners, whether he is able to agree on a long-term deal with Cincinnati or not.

Noble Meyer

MIA Starting Pitcher

Marlins prospect RHP Noble Meyer (undisclosed) will be out for an “estimated” eight weeks.

Meyer, the No. 10 overall pick in 2023’s MLB Draft, has had a rough few years since we’ve last blurbed him. He carried a 5.18 ERA in 40 innings for High-A Beloit in 2024, and in a repeat assignment there in 2025, managed a 4.41 ERA in 65 1/3rd innings pitched. Control has been a problem, with 100 walks allowed in 150 1/3rd professional innings. Meyer will look to get things on track when healthy this season. He’s still only 21 years old.
