Royals designated RHP Kyle Wright for assignment.
Wright has been placed on outright waivers, according to Jon Heyman of The New York Post. He can reject an eventual outright assignment to Triple-A Omaha and elect free agency if he passes through waivers unclaimed. The 30-year-old hurler, who was a likely non-tender candidate later this month, hasn’t thrown a pitch in the big leagues since the 2023 campaign after undergoing shoulder surgery. He would represent an interesting low-risk lottery ticket somewhere else this offseason.

Red Sox optioned RHP Tyler Samaniego to Triple-A Worcester.
Samaniego will get the boot with Jack Anderson joining the Red Sox in his place. Samaniego will likely be back at some point as a middle-inning option over the coming months.
Braves, Phillies face off on Sunday Night Baseball
Ronald Acuna Jr. and the Atlanta Braves head north to the city of brotherly love to take on NL East rival Bryce Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday Night Baseball. Watch at 7 p.m. ET on Peacock and NBCSN.
  • CHC Relief Pitcher #33
Tommy Birch of the Des Moines Register reports that the Cubs are promotion LHP Ryan Rolison from Triple-A Iowa.
Rolison and Luke Little will both get the chance to help the Chicago bullpen from the left side, according to Birch. The 28-year-old is a former first-round pick who has bounced around organizations since forging a 7.02 ERA with the Rockies.
  • CHC Relief Pitcher #43
Tommy Birch of the Des Moines Register reports that the Cubs are promoting Luke Little from Triple-A Iowa.
Little will get the chance to be a bullpen helper for the Cubs. The 25-year-old was an up-and-down option for Chicago in 2025 ,and likely will have the same role in 2026.
  • KC Relief Pitcher #53
Royals president of baseball operations J.J. Picollo told 96.5 The Fan that Carlos Estévez (foot) could begin a rehab assignment in the coming days.
That rehab assignment would be with Triple-A Omaha. Estévez was able to throw a bullpen session Thursday, and the 33-year-old has a chance to rejoin the Kansas City bullpen near the start of May after being shelved due to a foot contusion. The question will be what role Estévez has; but fantasy managers shouldn’t be surprised if he’s saving games again relatively soon.
  • STL Starting Pitcher #40
Hunter Dobbins (knee) will start Tuesday for Triple-A Memphis.
This will be the third rehab start for Dobbins as he recovers from his torn ACL. The 26-year-old should be an option for the St. Louis rotation soon, but fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach in redraft formats.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #36
Bailey Falter (elbow) is set to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday
Falter was only able to pitch in two games to begin the season before being placed on the injured list with elbow irritation. The southpaw will likely need a couple of appearances before being ready to potentially help the Kansas City staff near the end of April.
  • MIL Relief Pitcher #58
Brewers transferred LHP Rob Zastryzny from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
Zastryzny was placed on the 15-day injured list prior to the start of the season, so he won’t be eligible to come off the IL until the end of May now. In addition to a shoulder strain, he’s also dealing with an intercostal issue that could keep him out until the summer begins.
  • MIL Right Fielder #30
Brewers selected the contract of INF/OF Greg Jones from Triple-A Nashville
Jones gets the call to replace Christian Yelich (groin) on the roster. The former first-round pick is one of the faster players in baseball and can play several positions, but seems more likely to just be a fill-in than someone who gets considerable playing time in Yelich’s absence.
  • MIL Left Fielder #22
Brewers placed OF Christian Yelich on the 10-day injured list with a left groin strain.
Yelich’s original injury designation with hamstring tightness, but imaging revealed the strain. The 34-year-old will be out for at least the next week-plus, and it seems more likely than not this will be a longer stint on the injured list than that minimum stint. Greg Jones has called up to take Yelich’s spot on the roster.
  • WSH Starting Pitcher #70
Nationals recalled LHP Mitchell Parker from Triple-A Rochester.
He’ll replace Jackson Rutledge after Rutledge was optioned to Triple-A by Washington on Monday. The Nationals don’t have an off day until April 27th, so having Parker up could enable them to use him as a spot starter or perhaps provide length out of their bullpen over these 13 days. In three Triple-A starts this season, Parker has allowed nine runs on 17 hits in 13 1/3 innings while striking out 16 and walking just three.
