As reported earlier, Hicks will head to the White Sox in a salary dump by the Red Sox. The Red Sox are reportedly sending $8 million to the White Sox in the deal, meaning that the White Sox will take on around $16 million that’s still owed to Hicks over the next two seasons. The 29-year-old hurler has struggled through injury and ineffectiveness over the past two seasons, but when he’s right, he has proven to be a capable high-leverage bullpen arm. He’s likely to function in a setup role in front of new closer Seranthony Dominguez.

Hoskins will get a day off with Chase DeLauter serving as the designated hitter and George Valera getting the start in right.

It clears room on the 40-man roster for Blas Castaño, who was claimed off waivers from the Mariners on Tuesday. Peralta will now hit the waiver wire, and if he goes unclaimed, he’ll likely report back to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Castaño was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque. The 27-year-old will provide some depth and likely get a chance at some point to help the Colorado bullpen. Good luck.

Soto has missed the majority of April while recovering from his strained right calf, and the Mets have clearly missed the slugger over the past few weeks. The 27-year-old may get some days off to stay fresh and avoid an aggravation, but fantasy managers need to be prepared to have Soto in their lineup starting Wednesday.

Rojas is up with Kody Funderburk officially placed on the paternity list. The 23-year-old will make his MLB debut if/when he gets a chance to pitch in the next week.

Funderburk will be away from the team for up to three days. Kendry Rojas is up to take his spot on the roster.

It was a short stint on the IL for Lewis after dealing with a right knee sprain. The 26-year-old is back and will assuredly be in the lineup on a consistent basis, although Minnesota may give him some maintenance days to (hopefully) prevent further issue.

Huff’s services are no longer required in Baltimore with Adley Rutschman coming off the 10-day injured list from his ankle injury. The former top prospect will hit the waiver wire, and he’ll have a choice to report back to Norfolk or hit free agency if he’s unclaimed.

Rutschman missed just the minimum amount of time while dealing with inflammation in his ankle. The 28-year-old is back and will resume starting catching duties, with an occasional start at designated hitter here and there.

Valera left his last start with elbow soreness, but the team said on Monday that he would not need an X-ray or MRI. A day later, he is heading for an MRI. That’s a bit concerning, considering the 19-year-old missed three months last season with an elbow issue. We could be looking at an extended absence for the Red Sox’s fifth-ranked prospect.
