Tyler Glasnow gave up three runs in 2 2/3 innings against Team Mexico in a no-decision Wednesday.

Glasnow managed two scoreless innings before giving up two singles and a walk in the third. The Dodgers were still up 2-1 when he left, but Jacob Frost allowed both inherited runners to score after entering with two outs. Glasnow’s velocity today was a little better than his 2025 average, but the command wasn’t quite there yet. He threw first-pitch strikes to just five of the 13 batters he faced.

Diamondbacks optioned RHPs Dylan Ray and Yilber Diaz to Triple-A Reno; reassigned C Gavin Logan to minor-league camp.

Ray, who was added to the 40-man over the offseason, had an inflated 6.30 ERA for Reno in his age-24 season. He managed to appear in only one spring training game and took the loss. He profiles as an up-and-down starter if he can improve his command.

Brenton Doyle

COL Center Fielder #9

Rockies OF Brenton Doyle (wrist) hit in the batting cage on Wednesday and believes he can play tomorrow.

Doyle has missed a little over a week since leaving last Wednesday’s game against the Cubs with left wrist inflammation. This is a positive update on it that makes it seem likely it won’t linger into the regular season.

HOU Relief Pitcher #65

Astros manager Joe Espada said he believes Enyel De Los Santos (knee) could be available Opening Day.

De Los Santos will throw a bullpen on Saturday and could face hitters late next week, per the Astros manager. He’s not guaranteed a spot on the Opening Day roster even if healthy, but he should at least factor into the up/down consideration for the Astros in 2026.

Reiver Sanmartin

SF Relief Pitcher #48

Reiver Sanmartin (hip) left Colombia’s exhibition against the Pirates and is expected to miss the World Baseball Classic.

Sanmartin was covering first base on a grounder when the injury occurred. He’s expected to see an orthopedist on Wednesday. Sanmartin was competing for a spot in the Giants bullpen, but it now seems likely he’ll be behind enough to be questionable for Opening Day.

Shay Whitcomb

HOU Left Fielder #10

Shay Whitcomb homered twice as Korea defeated Czechia 11-4 in their WBC opener.

Whitcomb, fighting for a roster spot that doesn’t appear to be there on a suddenly-deep Astros infield, made the most of his WBC experience with a pair of homers off Jeff Barto and Filip Capka. Korea moves to 1-0 in Pool C and will take on Japan on Saturday.

Andrew McCutchen

TEX Center Fielder #22

Rangers signed DH Andrew McCutchen to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Perhaps it’s as simple as giving the Rangers a more-threatening right-handed platoon option for Joc Pederson. McCutchen hit .284/.366/.433 in 36 starts against left-handers last year, but just .239/.333/.367 overall. Entering his age-39 season, McCutchen doesn’t have any real fantasy value outside of playing him in daily transaction leagues against a left-handed starter. He also is by no means guaranteed to make the Rangers based on the date of his signing and the minor-league deal.

Colton Gordon

HOU Starting Pitcher #61
Astros reassigned LHP Colton Gordon and RHP Miguel Ullola to minor league camp.

Gordon should operate as a spot starter at some point this season for the Astros. Ullola’s control issues — 78 walks in 113.2 innings last year in AAA Sugar Land, then six more in 5.1 innings in Spring Training — make it hard to believe he’ll resurface without adjustments.

Josh Hader

HOU Relief Pitcher #71

Astros manager Joe Espada said Josh Hader (biceps) will return to the mound early next week.

The progression continues. Hader will have gone from playing catch to a bullpen session to hitting the mound next week. It seems like he’s still well behind schedule to be ready for Opening Day, but this remains a very fluid situation. Bryan Abreu is who you should be targeting in fantasy leagues if you’re not convinced Hader will be ready to go.

Jeremy Peña

HOU Shortstop #3

Astros manager Joe Espada said Jeremy Peña (finger) will see a hand specialist today to determine the extent of his finger injury.

Peña didn’t think it was too bad after a grounder left his nail injured and bloody yesterday, but apparently the Astros are either operating out of a sense of precaution or this is worse than the original update indicated. Stay tuned for further updates from the Astros, but any kind of injury would likely force Peña out of the World Baseball Classic.
