Braves sent RHP Ian Hamilton outright to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Hamilton struggled last year with the Yankees, getting booted from the roster after their trade deadline acquisitions came in. He finished with a 4.28 ERA in 40 innings and did not reappear for the Yankees at any point in August, September, or October. He’d pitched in just two games with the Braves in Spring Training, managing a 5.40 ERA and a 3.00 WHIP.

Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Saturday evening that the club is hopeful that George Lombard Jr. (knee) is dealing with a day-to-day type of injury.

The Yankees are still waiting on the results of the MRI exam that Lombard underwent after making an early exit from the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Red Sox, but it sounds like they’re optimistic that he was able to avoid any sort of significant injury. Expect the club to provide another update on his status prior to Sunday’s series finale.
