The Angels have presumably let Strickland walk after he failed to make their season-opening bullpen. The 37-year-old veteran was in camp as a non-roster invitee. He compiled an encouraging 1.80 ERA and 2/0 K/BB ratio over five innings of work this spring.

Perdomo came into Friday with a .318 average in August, and that number obviously went up with his showing against the Reds. He’s also still batting just .248 on the season, so it’s hard to get too excited by his solid three weeks of play, especially considering how good he was for the vast majority of 2025.

Tatis doubled and singled twice while also driving in a run. He’s forged a .988 OPS in August, but the hits haven’t been falling quite as often as you might expect with a .242 average in that timeframe coming into Friday. That appears to be changing over the last week or so, as Tatis has picked up multiple hits in three of his last five contests.

France isn’t likely to wear Twins’ colors if he’s elected to Cooperstown (note, he’s not going to be elected to Cooperstown, respectfully), but he did take some revenge against a former club of his with a two-run shot in the first inning. He’s been one of the best rebound stories in baseball this year, and now has 18 homers along with a slash of .293/.353/.521. You cannot call this anything but a remarkable season for France, especially based on the less-than-lofty expectations.

It unfortunately came in a game where the Padres had a four-run lead, so Miller’s brilliance did not come with a save. It’s still three more punchouts from the sensational 27-year-old, and it lower his ERA to a miniscule 0.84.

Prielipp did strike out seven in the loss against two walks, and he held the San Diego lineup without runs between the first and fifth frames. That means less when you give up a two-run shot in the first to Ty France, and four more runs crossed the plate in that fifth inning. There was some good stuff from the 25-year-old, but not enough to make it a successful outing. He’ll get a chance to face the A’s next week, but keep in mind that start will take place in Sacramento.

Vásquez allowed only two hits, and one of those was a two-run triple by Cody Clemens. Outside of that three-bagger, it was a solid effort for the 27-year-old that saw him issue zero walks with three strikeouts. You can’t rely on these kind of results from Vásquez, but you can’t completely dismissed the possibilities of them coming either. He will take a 9-6 record and 4.19 ERA into a scheduled start next week in Pittsburgh versus the Pirates.

Bazzana singled for all four hits. The 23-year-old’s steal gives him 16 on his rookie campaign, while the three-RBI night bumps that total to 39. Bazzana has had some real ups and downs, but the future certainly looks bright for the 23-year-old based on those aforementioned ups.
