Dollander worked as the bulk hurler Saturday, and he was fortunate that Brennan Bernardino gave up a pair of runs so he doesn’t get the loss. Soroka threw a bullpen on Tuesday as he continues to work back from his glute strain. It sounds like the results of the bullpen might have been mixed since he still does not have a rehab appearance scheduled. Once his glute feels good enough for game action, Soroka will need at least one rehab start before rejoining Arizona’s rotation.

Lovullo continued to say, “We’ll just keep putting that off until we get everything complete.” It sounds as if the initial opinion was not great news, but Gallen is doing his due diligence before deciding on a course of treatment. Second opinions can often lead to surgery, which would keep Gallen out for the majority of the 2027 season, but we will wait and see what the results of his additional meetings are.

The 26-year-old shortstop had been playing through some soreness since the start of the season, so he got a cortisone injection to help out. He shouldn’t be out of work for long.

Alvarez got the scoring started in the third inning with a 416-foot (100.2-mph EV) solo shot off of Aaron Nola. He then increased that edge to 3-0 with his 363-foot (104.4-mph EV) blast off of Nola to in the seventh inning. He also drew a walk and struck out in the ballgame, finishing the night 2-for-3. For the season, the 24-year-old backstop is now slashing .259/.325/.448 with 11 long balls and 25 RBI.
