Woods Richardson, who pitched two innings out of the pen on Monday, got the ball after Kendry Rojas was scratched before the game. He got through two innings allowing only one run, but the White Sox had four hits off him to knock him out of the game in the third. Woods Richardson is 0-7 with a 7.74 ERA and a 26/25 K/BB in his 10 starts and two relief appearances this season. He’s out of options, so the Twins can’t simply send him down. He’ll probably stick around as a middle reliever.

Luzardo gave up seven hits, walked two and struck out nine. He improved to 11-5 with the win. Luzardo was staked to an 8-0 lead before he allowed a run in the sixth inning. Since the beginning of July, he’s won five of eight starts. Luzardo has a 3.23 ERA. He’s lined up to face the Cardinals at home next weekend.

Donovan was just 5-for-29 (.172) with one double, one run scored and one RBI in eight games since retiring from the injured list entering play Saturday. The Mariners moved him into the lead-off spot and Donovan responded with three hits and three RBI. He’s hitting .263 with a .751 OPS and 12 RBI this year.

Paredes’ home run was his 16th of the year. He hit a two-run shot off Mariners reliever Jose A. Ferrer in the eighth inning. Paredes hit five home runs in June and four in July, but this was his first home run in 13 August games. He’s hitting .260 with a .775 OPS and 67 RBI.

Young’s home run was his 15th of the season. he hit a three-run shot off Ronel Blanco in the ninth inning. Young went 0-for-6 on Friday and was dropped to sixth in the order, but responded with a big game Saturday. He’s hitting .262 with a .726 OPS and 56 RBI.

Wesneski gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out six. He fell to 2-1 in four starts with the loss. Wesneski struck out six of 20 batters faced, which was a positive. Unfortunately, he was just a little too hittable. Wesneski has a 5.16 ERA, though his 4.36 xFIP points to more upside if he can correct some of his issues. He’s lined up to face the Athletics on the road next weekend.

Hancock gave up five hits, walked two and struck out eight. He improved to 7-7 on the year with the win. Hancock allowed a run on three hits in the first inning and a solo home run to Christian Vazquez in the second inning. Then he settled in and blanked the Astros for the next five innings. Hancock has a 3.30 ERA on the year. He’s lined up to face the Cubs at home next weekend.

Ramírez was 12-for-61 (.197) with 11 runs, four RBI and five steals in 18 games since returning from the injured list entering play Saturday. The 33-year-old third baseman got the day off Friday and came back with a strong day at the plate Saturday. Ramírez had a double and scored in the first inning and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. Ramírez is hitting .232 with a .717 OPS and 38 RBI on the year.

Marsee was restored to the leadoff spot Thursday and stayed there tonight despite going 1-for-8 the last two games. He’s batting a fine .278/.358/.431 since the break, which would make him pretty interesting for fantasy purposes if he was stealing bases. Marsee, though, has been stuck on 19 steals since July 10, having been caught on his only two attempts during the second half.

The unearned runs came in the third after an Esteury Ruiz error in right field opened the door for a two-run inning. The earned runs came on back-to-back homers from Ke’Bryan Hayes and Matt McLain in the fifth. Gusto walked none and had a nice 37 percent CSW. He’ll probably start against the Nationals next week.

It’s the third straight outing in which he’s recorded the bare minimum quality start. Singer departed with a one-run lead that was blown during a four-run eighth. He’s gone four straight outings without a victory, and things don’t figure to get much better from here. He’ll face the Cardinals next week.
