Mariners acquired RHP Carson Fulmer from the Pirates for cash.

Fulmer augments Seattle’s middle relief depth on the doorstep of the majors after posting a lackluster 6.35 ERA across 34 innings at the Triple-A level this season. The 32-year-old journeyman hasn’t pitched in the majors since making 13 appearances for the Angels last year. He’s merely organizational depth at this stage of his career.

Reds president of baseball operation Nick Krall told reporters Héctor Rodríguez will be called up for Tuesday’s series opener against the Athletics.

Rodríguez is one of the more electrifying talents in the Reds’ system and will get his first opportunity at the highest level after hitting .274/.347/.533 with 27 round-trippers and six steals in 455 plate appearances for Triple-A Louisville. The 22-year-old outfielder is worthy of a speculative pickup in deeper mixed leagues based on his over-the-fence power upside. He figures to play everyday for Cincinnati over the final two months.

Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said in a radio interview with SeattleSports 710 that Kade Anderson is “definitely in the mix” for a rotation spot.

Seattle didn’t move on from George Kirby or Emerson Hancock at the trade deadline, but they managed to ship veteran Luis Castillo to the White Sox over the weekend, which could open up a rotation spot for Anderson. The 22-year-old top pitching prospect figures to arrive at some point in mid-August so that he’ll remain rookie-eligible for next season. He’s put together a sublime professional debut with a microscopic 1.20 ERA and 119/12 K/BB ratio across 82 1/3 innings over 16 starts for Double-A Arkansas. Needless to say, Anderson should’ve been stashed in most fantasy leagues a while ago.

Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said Luke Raley (forearm) is likely to miss the rest of the season.

It’s a tough break after Raley hit the injured list with a forearm strain over the weekend. The 31-year-old finishes the year hitting .225/.284/.439 with 15 homers in 287 plate appearances across 95 games.

The Rockies are closing in on a two-year contract extension with Mickey Moniak, according to MLB.com’s Thomas Harding.

Moniak missed time at the start of the year with a finger injury, but has still delivered top-50 range fantasy value among outfielder this season, hitting .273/.317/.547 with 17 homers, 47 RBI and one steal in 278 plate appearances across 74 games. The 28-year-old has emerged as a middle-of-the-order run-producer for Colorado and makes a ton of sense as a stabilizing presence as they continue searching for their next foundational pieces. The new agreement will buy out his final arbitration-eligible season in addition to one year of free agency.

Dodgers selected the contract of C Chuckie Robinson from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Robinson returns to Los Angeles with starting catcher Dalton Rushing landing on the injured list with elbow inflammation. The 31-year-old journeyman backstop went 2-for-23 during an eight-game stint with the Dodgers earlier this season.

Dodgers selected the contract of RHP Jonathan Hernández from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Hernández returns to the Dodgers’ relief mix prior to Monday’s game against the Cubs. He was torched for an 8.15 ERA across 17 2/3 innings of work earlier this season.

Dodgers optioned RHP Emmet Sheehan to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The Dodgers sent shockwaves through baseball by acquiring back-to-back AL Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal from the Tigers over the weekend. It’ll be Sheehan who loses his spot in the club’s rotation as a result. The 26-year-old was a trendy target in fantasy drafts this spring, but struggled mightily to a bloated 5.29 RA across 95 1/3 innings this season. He could potentially make it back to Los Angeles as a reliever for their upcoming postseason run. However, he can be safely dropped in all fantasy leagues.

Dodgers placed C Dalton Rushing on the 10-day injured list with right elbow inflammation.

No surprise after Rushing was scratched from Sunday’s series finale against the Red Sox. It certainly explains why the Dodgers went out and acquired both Ben Rortvedt and Hunter Feduccia at the trade deadline. They’ll need to cobble things together behind the plate until Will Smith (neck) is ready to return in a couple weeks.

Dodgers designated RHP Wyatt Mills for assignment.

Mills loses his spot on Los Angeles’ 40-man roster during their flurry of trade deadline moves. The 31-year-old has made six relief appearances for the Dodgers this season.

Rays selected the contract of C Kenny Piper from Double-A Montgomery.

Piper received his first call up to the big leagues prior to Monday’s series opener against the Rockies. The 28-year-old has hit .253/.358/.498 with 11 homers and 11 steals in 266 plate appearances for Double-A Montgomery this season.
