Hunter Dobbins yielded three runs in 4 1/3 innings Thursday in a no-decision versus the Mets.

Dobbins struck out five and walked none, but he gave up nine hard-hit balls, including homers to Bo Bichette and Jared Young in the first. This leaves Dobbins with a 3.63 ERA in two relief appearances and two starts for the Cardinals. He’ll likely start again Wednesday against the Padres.

Rockies re-signed RHP John Brebbia to a minor league contract.

Brebbia elected free agency last weekend rather than accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Albuquerque, but after exploring his options on the open market, the veteran right-hander decided that his best opportunity was to remain with the Rockies. The 36-year-old has compiled a 10.38 ERA and 1.62 WHIP over 4 1/3 frames in his three outings with the big league club this season.

Zack Gelof was removed from Thursday night’s battle against the Tigers in the third inning after injuring his knee while crashing into the outfield wall.

Gelof made a terrific sliding catch running down the third base line, but slid into the side wall as he did and came up hobbling. He tried to walk it off and remain in the game but ultimately the decision was made to pull him. Gelof will head for further evaluation. Expect the A’s to provide an update on his status after the game.

Mets sent RHP Guillo Zuñiga outright to Triple-A Syracuse.

The 27-year-old hurler was designated for assignment earlier in the week but he passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to operate as extra bullpen depth for the ballclub at the Triple-A level.

Nick Kurtz (illness) returned to the Athletics’ starting lineup for Thursday’s series finale against the Tigers.

Kurtz was pulled from Wednesday’s game in the second inning after he threw up in the team’s dugout, which caused his removal. He’s back at first base and batting second for the A’s against Tigers’ left-hander Framber Valdez on Thursday evening in Detroit.

Jo Adell is not in the Angels’ starting lineup for Thursday’s divisional matchup against the Rangers in Arlington.

It appears to be nothing more than a routine night off for the 27-year-old slugger. Josh Lowe will slide over to cover right field while Wade Meckler starts in left and will bat seventh against Rangers’ veteran right-hander Nathan Eovaldi.

Christian Yelich is absent from the Brewers’ starting lineup for Thursday night’s tilt against the Cardinals.

The Brewers continue to mix in plenty of off days for their 34-year-old slugger to make sure that he stays healthy for the duration of the season. Jake Bauers will serve as the designated hitter in his place on Thursday while Andrew Vaughn draws a start at first base and will bat sixth against Cardinals’ right-hander Andre Pallante.
