Hollowell returns to Chicago’s relief corps to replace injured closer Daniel Palencia (elbow). The 28-year-old will likely operate in middle relief after allowing two runs over 1 2/3 innings during his lone appearance for the Cubs last month.

Scott gave up four hits, walked none and struck out seven. His seven strikeouts were one away from tying his season-high. The Mets reportedly plan to reduce Scott’s workload in the final month of the season and he was removed after 80 pitches on Sunday. He has a 3.81 ERA. Scott is lined up to face the Yankees at home next weekend, though it will be difficult for him to win games with the Mets keeping him on a short leash.

Pasquantino collected just two hits in the series against the Jays, but both were homers. Today’s was hit 406 feet off Spencer Arrighetti. Pasquantino is hitting .269 with five homers, 13 RBI and only four strikeouts in 18 games since coming off the injured list.

Dobnak moved to 3-3 with a 2.54 ERA in 10 starts and two relief appearances. At this point, his rebound at age 31 might be an even better story than his breakthrough at 24. He’ll take on the Red Sox in Boston next weekend.

Arrighetti walked three and gave up two homers that accounted for five of the six runs. He’s allowed 14 earned runs and five homers in 15 2/3 innings over four outings for the Blue Jays. It’s possible he’ll start again next weekend against the Orioles, but the Jays would likely be open to alternatives.

Bateman has come in at .347/.412/.406 through 116 plate appearances and is getting high marks for his defense. Barring a serious drought these last three weeks, it seems like he’s going to be penciled in as the Jays’ center fielder next year.

One game to sum up Guerrero’s season. He hit the ball 110.0, 110.1 and 108.7 mph in his first three at-bats today, but they were all grounders and were turned into four outs. It’s just the 17th time this year that a player has topped 108 mph in exit velocity three times in a game.

Rocchio’s home run was his 13th of the season. He hit a solo shot off Jackson Jobe to tie the game in the fifth inning. It was another devastating home run for the Tigers off the bat of Rocchio, who hit a grand slam and a walk-off home run in the first game of Friday’s doubleheader. He’s hitting .246 with a .684 OPS and 60 RBI this year.

After a hot weekend at the plate in Cleveland, Greene is 7-for-22 (.318) with two home runs, four doubles and eight RBI in five games so far in September. He’s hitting.275 with an .831 OPS and 62 RBI, but is looking to finish the season on a high note.

Jobe gave up four hits, walked two and struck out seven. He bounced back after allowing five runs in his last start, a loss to the Twins. Jobe was sharper and his seven strikeouts were the most he’s had in a start since returning from injury and tied his career-high that was set last year. He has a 4.45 ERA. Jobe is lined up to face the Rockies at home next weekend.

Smith entered a tied game in the ninth inning and struck out two in a perfect inning. With the game still tied and the automatic runner on second base in the 10th inning, he struck out the side in order, setting up the Guardians for the walk-off win in the bottom of the inning. Smith’s win was his fifth of the year. He has a 2.25 ERA.
