Precious Achiuwa (28% rostered): Achiuwa pulled down a career-high 22 boards in Monday’s win over Miami, filling in admirably for Scottie Barnes, who’s still on the mend from a sprained right ankle. Christian Koloko drew the start Monday, but Achiuwa logged 34 minutes off the bench for a second straight game. You won’t be adding Achiuwa for his defensive acumen or strong FG%, but if you need boards and some points, he’s your man.
Bol Bol (12% rostered): The 7'2 center matched his career high in blocks and set a new career high in scoring Monday night, going for 19 points, five boards and four swats across 20 minutes. It’s clear that the Mo Bamba experiment from last season is over, and Bol may be the next man up in the frontcourt rotation. Pick him up for your fantasy squad if you have room for a speculative add.
Others worth consideration:
Chris Boucher (25% rostered): 10 points, two rebounds and two triples in just 12 minutes off the bench? Yeah, that’s plenty encouraging. If you have the luxury of stashing him on your bench, Boucher is an intriguing addition.
Goga Bitadze (8% rostered): He’s had one good game in four outings, but he’s seen at least 20 minutes in back-to-back contests and can help you out with blocks and boards.
Jaylen Nowell (15% rostered): Nowell has been a pleasant surprise for Minnesota this season, delivering some quality production off the bench in 21.5 minutes per contest. He’s ranked just outside the top-120 on the season.
Larry Nance Jr.(10% rostered): With Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson banged up, Nance is a viable add. He went for 10 points, seven rebounds and six assists in his last game.
Trey Murphy (34% rostered): Murphy should have already been on your radar prior to the aforementioned injuries, but there’s no time like the present!
Lonnie Walker IV (32% rostered): He’s playing the Malik Monk role from last season: a fantasy relevant option on a lousy team. The Lakers have a dearth of playmakers and scorers, so Walker makes the cut by default. We’re getting more well-rounded lines from him this season than in seasons past, which is encouraging.
Dennis Smith Jr. (33% rostered): He’s played quite well in LaMelo Ball‘s absence and with Terry Rozier banged up, DSJ is a fun. He should continue to post strong numbers until Ball is back.
Royce O’Neale (39% rostered): O’Neale picked up where he left off in Utah, playing big minutes and stuffing the stat sheet with regularity. He won’t score many points, but he’s averaging 4.7 boards, 3.3 dimes, 2.0 steals, 2.0 blocks and 1.7 triples per contest - that’s solid production, baby! He’s flown under the radar thus far, but he’ll be scooped up in your league before you know it. Act now.
Ayo Dosunmu (59% rostered): He had a strong showing Monday with 22 points, six boards, two assists and a steal, and Dosunmu has played some solid basketball to start the 2022-23 campaign. With Lonzo Ball on the shelf indefinitely, what are you waiting for?
Santi Aldama (67% rostered): Santi “Claus” Aldama has been a real present to fantasy managers, and he should be rostered everywhere until Jaren Jackson Jr returns. He’s still available in a third of fantasy leagues.
