Giants TE Darcy Johnson left Thursday’s game with a shoulder injury.

Johnson fumbled on his lone reception after taking a hard hit from Brian Dawkins. The Giants’ backup tight end was sent to the locker-room for X-rays. He returned to the game in the third quarter.

Mack Hollins caught 2-of-2 targets for 18 yards in the Patriots’ Week 2 win over the Steelers.

Hollins quietly led Patriots wide receivers in snaps in the first game without A.J. Brown. He saw just two targets on the day, catching both for a total of 18 yards in a subpar offensive day. The Pats pass-catchers are a mix of low-ceiling fantasy viability as Maye spreads the wealth around the different receivers. Better offensive days are ahead for the Patriots but Hollins is a WR5 play at best for Week 3 against the Jaguars.
Giants very much 'alive' vs. Rams in Week 2
Jay Croucher and Drew Dinsick explain why they aren't putting too much stock in the Giants' good Week 1 form, but the Rams' slow start and other 'external factors' opens the door for an upset in LA.

Marshawn Lloyd rushed six times for 20 yards in the Packers’ Week 2 win over the Jets, adding six yards receiving and a touchdown.

Perhaps more importantly, Lloyd lost a key fumble in the second half and then was barely on the field after that. The 25-year-old had plenty of trouble earning yards in the running game, but he was wide open on a well-designed screen pass in the first half for a touchdown catch. Lloyd played on just 16 of the Packers’ 53 snaps and handled seven of their 19 carries. This is a confusing committee that isn’t giving any running back real value, and Josh Jacobs could return at some point near the middle of the season. Fantasy managers in shallow leagues don’t need to hold onto Lloyd, and others could look to trade him away on the back of his receiving touchdown.

Woody Marks rushed eight times for eight yards against the Bengals in Week 2, adding five catches for 27 yards on six targets.

At least he found a PPR scam role here, but this was ugly stuff as far as production. Marks has battled David Montgomery to a near 50/50 split through two weeks. All that’s really done for fantasy purposes is make neither of them all that interesting. Marks will be on the FLEX radar against the Colts in Week 3.

David Montgomery rushed six times for 10 yards in Houston’s Week 2 loss to the Bengals, adding two catches for 14 yards on his only two targets.

Not exactly the triumphant follow-up to Week 1’s three touchdown performance. Some of this is about Dexter Lawrence bullying the Texans offensive line. Some of it is about Montgomery not having enough secured touches in passing situations — he and Woody Marks each played 38 snaps — and some of it is that the Bengals were able to focus on the run without Nico Collins. Montgomery should bounce back against the Colts in Week 3 and be on the RB2 line, but this was a reminder of what the floor can be.

David Njoku suffered an apparent leg injury in the second quarter of Week 2 against the Raiders and was carted off the field.

The team officially called it a knee injury and listed him as questionable to return. Njoku was unable to put weight on his right leg and had to be helped onto the cart. Several Chargers players came to the cart to see him off the field. It looks like his day is done, even if the team is calling him questionable. Charlie Kolar and Oronde Gadsden will see an uptick in routes going forward.

Romeo Doubs caught 3-of-4 targets for 96 yards in the Patriots’ Week 2 win over the Steelers.

Doubs followed up a rough Week 1 with a productive Week 2, leading the Patriots wideouts in targets, receptions, and yards. With A.J. Brown out, Doubs started and tallied the second-most snaps among Pats wide receivers for the day. The bulk of his yardage came from a pair of third-quarter chunk gains, catching a 29-yard pass early in the quarter and breaking free for a 63-yard gain later in the quarter. Between Drake Maye’s early season struggles and a spread-the-wealth approach in the passing game, the Patriots receivers’ ceilings are capped. Doubs looks like the best pass-catching option and will be firmly in the WR4 ranks for Week 3 against the Jaguars.

Geno Smith completed 27-of-41 passes for 247 yards and a touchdown in a 20-17, Week 2 loss to the Packers.

The Jets weren’t able to make many big plays in this one. Geno’s longest completion was a 43-yard connection to Breece Hall that Hall caught three yards beyond the line of scrimmage and did the rest. There was not another pass completion longer than 17 yards on the day. That being said, Geno didn’t make many bad decisions and took what the Packers’ defense was giving him. The offensive line provided no push in the running game, so the Jets may need to let Geno play more aggressively if they’re going to put up more points. That could start in Week 3 against a Lions team that figures to score a lot of points.

DeVonta Smith caught 10-of-13 targets for 117 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles’ Week 2 win over the Titans.

Coming off a quiet opener (3/53/0), Smith rebounded with the third 10-catch performance of his now six-year career. A whopping four of his receptions came on what proved to be the game-winning touchdown drive in the dying moments of the fourth quarter. Smith’s score was a 22-yarder where he slipped behind the safety and a rolled-out Jalen Hurts found him on the move. The duo almost connected for another long score, but Smith couldn’t quite get both feet in-bounds in the end zone. All in all, it was excellent stuff as the Eagles now get an extra day of rest ahead of a Week 3 Monday night date with a questionable Bears defense.

C.J. Stroud completed 30-of-55 passes for 353 scoreless yards in Houston’s 20-6, Week 2 loss to the Bengals.

Stroud looked pretty good in this game, but he had no one to throw to, the Texans had no running game (Stroud lead the team in rushing with 29 yards), and they scored six points. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln... Xavier Hutchinson failed to reel in several passes that hit him in the hands, including a would-be touchdown in the waning moments. It’s clear that without Nico Collins there’s just not enough talent on the field here to support a dead running game, and that’s what happened today. The Texans will look to rebound against the Colts in Week 3, a game where Stroud is probably on the QB2 radar for in superflex leagues.
