Panthers agreed to terms with LB Josey Jewell, formerly of the Broncos, to a three-year, $22.75 million contract.
Jewell joins a Panthers defense that’s in need of some help. After losing linebacker Frankie Luvu and safety Jeremy Chinn to the Commanders and trading Brian Burns to the Giants, the Panthers bring in Jewell to serve as the presumed starter at middle linebacker. Jewell totaled 108 tackles and two TFLs last season with the Broncos and earned a PFF grade of 67.2 while also fairing reasonably well in pass coverage. Defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero still needs some help on the defensive side of the ball, but Jewell is a solid vet for a team that’s lost three key starters in less than 24 hours.

Bills claimed S Darnell Savage off waivers from the Commanders.
The Bills placed CB Darius Slay on the reserve/did not report list earlier today, so Savage’s addition makes sense. Savage has played for both the Jaguars and Commanders this season, logging one pass breakup, 13 tackles and two quarterback pressures.
Gibbs can unseat CMC, Taylor as fantasy's top RB
Kyle Dvorchak discusses Jahmyr Gibbs' massive game against the Cowboys on Thursday night, sharing why the dual-threat back appears poised to finish be fantasy's top overall running back to finish out the year.
  • LV Wide Receiver #10
Raiders ruled out WR Dont’e Thornton (concussion) for Week 14 against the Broncos.
Raiders head coach Pete Carroll said he expects rookie WR Jack Bech to be involved “a lot” in Week 14. Bech will likely play more snaps, but expecting him to be involved a lot as a receiver seems foolhardy. Thornton has earned just 25 targets all year and Bech somehow trails him with 14. Bech warrants mild DFS consideration but should not be in re-draft lineups.
  • CHI Wide Receiver #15
Bears WR Rome Odunze “needs rest” after playing through a stress fracture in his foot, and is now considered week-to-week.
Prior to the foot listing, Odunze has been listed with heel and ankle issues on the Bears’ injury report, dating back to late October. It is possible these listings are all related. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that “the belief is it’s nothing long term and he’ll be back soon.” The Bears (9-3) sit atop the NFC standings. Preserving Odunze’s health for the playoffs makes sense. The Bears sandwich a Week 15 game against the Browns with games against the division-rival Packers in Weeks 14 and 16. Hopefully, Odunze is good to go for the rematch.
  • LV Tight End #87
Raiders coach Pete Carroll said he expects TE Michael Mayer (ankle) to miss Week 14’s game against the Broncos.
Carroll is “hopeful” that Mayer will play against the Eagles in Week 15. Fantasy managers have not been given a compelling reason to roster Mayer for the better part of the last month, and this latest rule out won’t help matters.
  • LV Defensive End #98
Raiders coach Pete Carroll said he expects Maxx Crosby (knee) to play in Las Vegas’ Week 14 game against the Broncos.
Crosby has not practiced in either of the last two sessions of the week and will likely get a questionable tag when the report drops later. As Vegas’ best (only?) good defensive player at this point, Crosby being ruled out would be big fantasy news for the Broncos’ prospects in Week 14.
  • ARI Running Back #31
Cardinals RB Emari Demercado (ankle) will not play in Arizona’s Week 14 game against the Rams.
He had gone limited-limited over the first two days of the week, but Demercado popped up with a surprise DNP on Friday and was ruled out. That’s just normal Cardinals backfield stuff these days, as the world has conspired to give Zonovan Knight RB2/FLEX assignments. Arizona also named Xavier Weaver (hamstring) as questionable after he DNP’ed, a move that had Cardinals beat Darren Urban predicting a lot of Trent Sherfield on Sunday. So, you know, there are healthier teams in the league.
  • LA Running Back #23
Rams RB Kyren Williams (ankle) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 14 against the Cardinals.
Williams was limited for the week’s first two practices, but upgraded to full on Friday. He will likely continue to split time with No. 2 RB Blake Corum, but Williams remains a borderline RB1/2 in what should be a fantasy-friendly game environment.
  • JAC Offensive Lineman #72
Jaguars LT Walker Little (concussion) won’t play in Jacksonville’s Week 14 game against the Colts.
Little did not practice all week. Cole Van Lanen would seem likely to take over at left tackle in Week 14. The Jaguars also ruled out S Andrew Wingard with a concussion of his own.
  • SEA Free Safety #20
Seahawks S Julian Love (hamstring) is expected to be activated from injured reserve in Week 14 against the Falcons.
The same can be said for Seahawks DT Jarran Reed (wrist/thumb), who is also on injured reserve. The team must make the requisite roster moves by 1:00 pm tomorrow in order for Love and Reed to play. The Seahawks ruled out WR Dareke Young (quadriceps). He remains on injured reserve.
  • JAC Defensive End #44
Jaguars EDGE Travon Walker (knee) is questionable for Jacksonville’s Week 14 game against the Colts.
Walker hasn’t played since Week 11, but was able to get in two limited sessions this week and appears to be trending towards a return in a must-win AFC South top-of-division showdown with the Colts. The pass rusher has had a somewhat disappointing year to this point with just 2.5 sacks in nine games. Arik Armstead (hand) and Eric Murray (neck) are also questionable for Jacksonville.
