Josh Allen completed 33-of-46 passes for 394 yards and two touchdowns in the Bills’ 41-40, Week 1 win over the Ravens, adding 30 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries.
The Ravens seemed to be running away with the game on the backs of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, taking a 15-point lead into the fourth quarter. The Bills would cut the lead to nine early in the frame but Henry quickly answered with his second long score of the game. Allen then entered Super-Josh mode, leading two touchdown drives in under two minutes, but the team’s third failed two-point conversion left them down by two points with 1:58 left on the clock. The defense did their job and put the ball back into Allen’s hands and he would make the Ravens pay, connecting with deep passes to Josh Palmer and Keon Coleman to set Matt Prater up for a chip shot as time ran out. Allen faces the Jets in Week 2 and, obviously, is a must-start.
