NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports an MRI revealed Bryce Young suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 7’s win over the Jets.

According to Pelissero, Young’s injury is the type that “is generally a 2-4 week injury,” but he adds that the Panthers are hopeful he could be back after just one game. Young’s practice availability throughout the coming weeks will tell us everything we need to know regarding his outlook come game day, but it doesn’t come as much of a surprise to hear he is expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Bills. Assuming Young does miss, Andy Dalton would make his first start of the 2025 season.

Bears placed DB Kyler Gordon on the reserve/physically unable to perform list with a calf injury.

The Bears also placed LB Noah Sewell (Achilles) and DL Shemar Turner (knee) on the reserve/physically unable to perform list. All three players must miss at least four games to begin the year.
Robinson's injury should not change fantasy lineup
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson was removed from practice this week after a head injury. Kyle Dvorchak breaks down why managers shouldn't move Robinson off their lineups just yet.

    Jaguars released RB DeeJay Dallas.

Dallas was the odd man out in the backfield after the signing of Chris Rodriguez, ultimately prompting his release. Also waived or released were LB Yasir Abdullah, QB Joey Aguilar, DT Tommy Akingbesote, DL T.J. Steelers released RB Travis Homer.

Homer was fighting for an end-of-bench spot in the Steelers’ running back room. His release indicates they will keep Eli Heidenreich on the initial 53-man roster. Also waived/released by the Steelers were DL Kyler Baugh, DB Devan Boykin, DB Sebastian Castro, DL Anthony Goodlow, WR Max Hurleman, DB D’Shawn Jamison, OL Steven Jones, TE Lance Mason, TE Lake McRee, OL Doug Nester, RB Lew Nichols, DB Doneiko Slaughter, WR Brandon Smith, LB Julius Welschof, LB Jacoby Windmon, LB Malik Harrison, DL Esezi Otomewo, and LB Elandon Roberts.

Saints placed Jordyn Tyson (hamstring) on injured reserve.

Tyson has been dealing with hamstring issues since his senior season at Arizona State. The issue flared up during training camp and he is now expected to be sidelined for roughly two months, as of two weeks ago. With an international game in Week 7 and a bye the following week, a Week 9 return looks like the most likely outcome for the rookie. He could still put up strong fantasy numbers in the second half of the season, but it’s hard to justify holding him in leagues with shallow benches.

Steelers activated Joey Porter Jr. (back) from the active/PUP list.

Porter Jr. spent all of training camp on the PUP list with a back issue. He was also searching for a new contract without much luck, so it’s safe to assume the back and bank issues were related. Without much leverage in the situation, he is likely stuck playing out the 2026 season on his rookie deal.

Cardinals placed James Conner on injured reserve.

Conner will miss at least four games to start the year as he continues to work his way back from the ankle injury that ended his 2025 season. The team can designate him to return after Week 4. With Jeremiyah Love also banged up, Tyler Allgeier could be in for a hefty workload early in the season.

Vikings waived Jermar Jefferson with an injury designation.

Assuming Jefferson clears waivers, he will revert to the Vikings’ injured reserve list and likely be cut with an injury settlement. The Vikings also waived/released CB Da’Veawn Armstead, WR Michael Briscoe, G Henry Byrd, WR Terrill Davis, C Gavin Gerhardt, G Joshua Gray, S Kahlef Hailassie, CB Tre Hawkins, LB Bangally Kamara, TE Marshall Lang, TE Matt Lauter, G Vershon Lee, OL Tristan Leigh, OL Delby Lemieux, CB Bryce Phillips, OL Tomas Rimac, DL Jahvaree Ritzie, LB Josh Ross, WR Trayvon Rudolph, WR Marcus Sanders Jr., RB Zavier Scott, OLB Cam’Ron Stewart, DL Smith Vilbert, CB Jarod Washington, CB Marcus Allen, OLB Kenny Dyson Jr., WR Dontae Fleming, TE Bryson Nesbit, LB Jacob Roberts, DL Jonathan Harris, P Johnny Hekker, DL Isaiahh Loudermilk, and S Tavierre Thomas.

    Dolphins waived RB Jarquez Hunter.

It’s a bit surprising after Hunter was acquired in a 1-for-1 swap for Tutu Atwell three days ago, but the Dolphins are undoubtedly hoping he will clear waivers and revert to the practice squad. The move was also a Miami money-saver, so it was not all for naught. Also waived/released by the Dolphins are OT Gottlieb Ayedze, CB Miles Battle, S Major Burns, TE Jeremiah Franklin, QB Mark Gronowski, WR Donaven McCulley, EDGE Rodney McGraw, CB Jai’Onte’ McMillan, QB Cam Miller, DL Fatorma Mulbah, LB Cam Riley, RB Carlos Washington Jr., DL Matthew Butler, LB Tyrel Dodson, EDGE Cameron Goode, OT Charlie Heck, S Lonnie Johnson Jr., WR Terrace Marshall Jr., EDGE David Ojabo, WR Jalen Reagor and CB Marco Wilson.
