Broncos CB Ja’Quan McMillian signed his one-year restricted free-agent tender.

The Broncos brought McMillian, 25, aboard as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He impressively won the starting slot cornerback role in 2023 and has manned that spot for the Broncos ever since. The front office retained McMillian via a one-year contract last year, and appears set to do so again, though McMillian’s agent said the cornerback is hoping to sign a long-term deal. That may not happen. General manager George Patton made his top-tier cornerback unit even deeper by spending a first-round pick on former Texas CB Jahdae Barron in 2025. While No. 1 CB Patrick Surtain II will assuredly retain his starting role, the Broncos could end up hosting a competition between McMillian, Barron and No. 2 perimeter CB Riley Moss this year. Last year, Barron logged 155 snaps in the slot, 95 in the box and 90 on the perimeter and could have the talent to compete for either role.

Colts WR Keenan Allen was arrested early on Sunday morning and charged with DWI and DWI endangering a person.

The Colts released a statement noting that they were aware of the charges and are in the information gathering process. Allen was arrested in downtown Indianapolis after the Colts’ first preseason game around 1 a.m. ET. More updates to come, we’re sure, but obviously this is not a great look for Allen.
Robinson's injury should not change fantasy lineup
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson was removed from practice this week after a head injury. Kyle Dvorchak breaks down why managers shouldn't move Robinson off their lineups just yet.

    Steelers released LB Jamin Davis.

Davis is a former first-round pick by the Commanders who will now be looking for his fourth organization in four years. The Steelers also released WR Levi Wentz.

Zavion Thomas caught all five of his targets for 140 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ preseason win over the Titans on Saturday.

The score and the bulk of the yardage came on one play, a 97-yard connection with Tyson Bagent. Thomas has some of the best speed of any rookie wideout — or any wideout regardless of age — and while he’s dealt with injuries in camp, the ability to grab and go is apparent. He’s not likely to be a significant contributor to begin the year, but he’s someone who has to be monitored in this Chicago passing attack.

    Texans released QB Brett Rypien.

Rypien was signed shortly after Graham Mertz suffered a torn ACL in the middle of August. The 30-year-old seems likely to make the practice squad, unless Houston finds a signal-caller they like more for that spot.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that the Saints are keeping Spencer Rattler despite trade interest.

Rattler will remain the backup signal-caller behind Tyler Shough, it appears. The 25-year-old showed some flashes — short flashes, but flashes — when operating as the starter with New Orleans, but it’s hard to see him being more than a depth option going forward.

    Saints waived DE Malakai Williams.

The team waived or released 10 players ahead of Sunday’s roster cut deadline, including WR Ronnie Bell, S Elliott Davison, EDGE Garrett Nelson, DL Brien Taylor, OT Xavier Truss, QB Hunter Dekkers, WR Bub Means, TE Zaire Mitchell-Paden, DE Khalil Saunders, and DE Malakai Williams. The team will need to trim further Sunday.

Saints waived/released WR Ronnie Bell, S Elliott Davison, QB Hunter Dekkers, WR Bub Means, TE Zaire Mitchell-Paden, EDGE Garrett Nelson, DL Khalil Saunders,, DE Brien Taylor, T/G Xavier Truss and EDGE Malakai Williams

Means was a fifth-round pick who showed some potential fantasy intrigue coming out of Pitt in 2024, but it hasn’t worked out. The same can be said for Bell. Both players and Dekkers are candidates for the practice squad. Everyone is a candidate for the practice squad, to be fair.

Falcons waived/released OT Andrew Stueber, WR Keelan Marion, DT Devonnsha Maxwell, LB Daveren Rayner, OG Jaeden Roberts, TE Joshua Simon and DB Keidron Smith.

It’s an extremely low-wattage list as the Falcons work to get down to 53 players. 27-year-old Stueber has not appeared in a regular season game since 2024 in Cincinnati.

Panthers waived/released WR Dan Chisena, DT Kyon Barrs, WR Elijah Cooks, RB Miles Davis, DT Tywone Malone, TE Caden Prieskorn, WR Roc Taylor, and OL Ryan Hayes.

A linchpin NFL special teamer since 2020, Chisena had been with the Panthers since 2024. He made only seven regular season appearances in Charlotte, suggesting he might ultimately be a poor bet to land back on the 53-man roster this year.

Giants waived/released WR Isaiah Hodgins, RB Damon Bankston, WR Kobe Prentice, TE Josiah Deguara, OL Brenden Jaimesl, DL Leki Fotu, LB Anfernee Orji and CB Ugo Amadi.

27-year-old Hodgins has found himself on the periphery of the G-Men’s 53-man roster since 2022, making 35 appearances during that timespan. He provided some crucial snaps for an undermanned receiver corps but never did quite enough to crack the targets rotation. He could end up back on New York’s practice squad, though those odds are decreased by this being a new coaching staff.
