Ohio State freshman TE Gee Scott (undisclosed) will not be available for Saturday’s game against Penn State.
Scott (6'3/225) was injured during the Buckeyes’ October 9 win over Maryland, and he was said to be cleared ahead of last weekend’s game against Indiana. However the freshman did not play, and he will sit out at least one more game. Scott, who was moved from wide receiver to tight end ahead of fall camp, has caught four passes for 43 yards this season.

Ohio State freshman TE Gee Scott (undisclosed) is available to play in Saturday’s game against Indiana.
Scott (6'3/225), who made the switch from wide receiver to tight end in the spring, has caught four passes for 43 yards this season. The freshman played sparingly in Ohio State’s win over Maryland on October 9 before suffering an undisclosed injury. The time off, as the Buckeyes did not play last weekend, was enough to get Scott back onto the depth chart.

  • WAS Tight End #41
Ohio State freshman TE Gee Scott Jr. and redshirt senior CB Demario McCall are no longer listed as wide receivers.
This isn’t a major surprise, as Scott (6'3/210) and McCall (5'9/195) took reps at their new positions during spring ball. Both were part of a wide receiver room that is loaded with talent; in fact, Ohio State is considered by many to have the deepest receiving corps in college football heading into the 2021 season. Both Scott and McCall have clearer paths to playing time at their new positions than they would have enjoyed at wide receiver.

Ohio State freshman WR Gee Scott Jr. (undisclosed) is available to play in Saturday’s game against Northwestern.
Scott (6'3/210), who did not play in Ohio State’s December 5 win over Michigan State, has not caught a pass this season. With Chris Olave (undisclosed) having been ruled out, the Buckeyes will need other wide receivers to step up alongside Garrett Wilson. Jameson Williams and Julian Fleming will be at the top of the list, and Scott may receive a few more reps as well.

    Kamryn Babb
    OSU #8
Ohio State wide receivers Kamryn Babb and Gee Scott are not available for Saturday’s game at Michigan State for undisclosed reasons.
In total the Buckeyes will be down four wide receivers for Saturday’s game, as in addition to Babb (6'0/197) and Scott (6'3/210), Mookie Cooper and Jaylen Harris are also on the lengthy list of inactives. Ohio State’s depth at wide receiver takes a hit with this news, but all of the team’s “big guns” on the outside are expected to be available.

Ohio State received a verbal commitment from four-star 2020 WR Gee Scott Jr..
Scott (6'3/195) was swayed in a major way by the unofficial visit he took to Columbus in October. While matters have changed considerably on the OSU sideline since then with HC Urban Meyer announcing his retirement, he said that he has “tons of confidence” in what Ryan Day will bring to the table after taking over for Meyer following the Rose Bowl. Scott comes equipped with a collegiate-ready frame and a pair of strong hands. Rivals ranks him as the No. 81 overall prospect in the 2020 class.

247Sports.com recruiting analyst Barton Simmons picked four-star 2020 WR and Ohio State commit Gee Scott Jr. for his The Opening Finals “Dream Team.”
Scott (6'2/207), who verbally committed to Ohio State on Christmas Day, has been compared to former NFL wideout Anquan Boldin by some scouts. As for his performance at The Opening Finals, consistency was one of the four-star pass-catcher’s calling cards. “He was steady and consistent all week,” Simmons wrote about Scott. “He made one-handed catches like they were routine. He had one drop all weekend and it was another one-handed catch that somehow we’ve come to take for granted.” By the looks of it, Gee Scott Jr. could have an immediate impact on the Ohio State passing game when he arrives on campus in 2020.

Rivals’ Mike Farrell passes along that Ohio State four-star 2020 verbal WR commit Gee Scott Jr. will “certainly be in the discussion” for a fifth star.
“The wide receiver debate is one of our better ones each rankings meeting and it will be a good one in August,” Farrell writes, noting that the 6-foot-2, 207-pound Scott has “all the intangibles” one would like in a wide receiver. He is fresh off a stellar performance at The Opening Finals, turning in a consistent body of work while showing out for several slick one-handed catches. Ohio State initially received Scott’s pledge near the end of December. At this juncture, Rivals ranks him as the No. 50 overall prospect in the 2020 class.
