The 27-year-old Robinson is an H-back type who spent time in Lions camp last year. He’s a camp body in Jacksonville, and probably will not make the roster.

Robinson is really just a blocker and H-back at 6'1/255. The ex-Colt was always a longshot for the final roster as Greg Jones is one of the league’s premier blocking backs.

G Garrett Chisolm was waived in a corresponding move. Robinson and Sawyer will provide insurance for TEs Delanie Walker and Nate Byham, who are dealing with minor injuries. Neither Robinson nor Sawyer is particularly likely to make it past first cuts.

Gijon Robinson and rookie Jacob Tamme will share snaps as the Colts’ primary tight end if Dallas Clark (knee) misses time.

Robinson is second on the depth chart and would likely start, with the more athletic Tamme coming in on passing downs. Neither is a fantasy option. Anthony Gonzalez would see the true bump in value as a slot receiver.

The second-year man out of Missouri Western State (?) has no problem going over the middle and taking hits. Viewed primarily as a blocker, Robinson currently may have a slight edge on Jacob Tamme to be Dallas Clark’s backup.
