Tosti arrived in great form but those results came on the Korn Ferry circuit. He saw a bump in field strength this week but still delivered the goods. “I’ve been playing really good for a long time and I’m very happy that a good round showed up in good timing.” He was 8th or better today in strokes gained off-the-tee, approach, and putting. Tosti racked up 16 birdies and a trio of eagles this week, including two big birds today. This will be his new personal best on the PGA TOUR and also earns him a spot in next week’s Wells Fargo Championship field, which also happens to be a designated event. His career trajectory could really make a turn for the better if he keeps this momentum rolling another week.

The Argentine fired a 5-under 67 on Monday to find himself in a 5-for-4 playoff alongside Ben Silverman, Cole Hammer, Rhein Gibson, and Quade Cummins. It was Gibson that ended up the odd-man out when all was said and done. For Tosti, he was visibly emotional after sinking his putt to clinch a spot. “I’ve been playing well for a while, it was a matter of time for the good breaks to come.” The Florida Gator standout snagged four top 10s in 12 events played last season on the PGA TOUR Latinoamerica circuit. That will give him some chances to play on the Korn Ferry Tour this season. His lone PGA TOUR start came earlier this year at the Puerto Rico Open where he missed the cut.
