NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. – It’s probably safe to say Tiger Woods won’t successfully defend his AT&T National title after a terrible start to the third round.
After making the cut on the number, 10 strokes behind halfway leader Justin Rose, Woods needed a great third round to climb into contention.
Instead, he bogeyed the first two holes and remains 2 over for the day, 5 over for the tournament, after five holes in delightful morning conditions at Aronimink.
Again, driving has not been a problem for Woods, who has split all but one fairway. But temporarily at least, he has lost his ability to score.
