Kuchar’s caddie Bennett planning Ryder return

ATLANTA – Lance Bennett, the longtime caddie for Matt Kuchar, is planning to make his return at the Ryder Cup.

On Aug. 27, Bennett’s wife, Angela, passed away suddenly. He has yet to return to caddying since then.

“He’s planning on it,” Kuchar said of having him on the bag at Gleneagles. “I think it will be good for him. I think it will be a good thing.”

Kuchar said he’s kept in touch with Bennett over the past few weeks.

“It’s still difficult. I can’t imagine what it would be like. I don’t think things are back to normal just yet.”

Kuchar also agreed with the notion that having Bennett at the Ryder Cup could provide an emotional boost for the U.S. team.

“I think everybody will be very excited to have him there,” he said.
