David Toms climbed back into the top-10 in the Official World Golf Rankings thanks to his win at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Toms climbed eight spots to No. 8 this week, which is where he landed in 2001 after winning the PGA Championship.
The top two players in the world remained unchanged with Tiger Woods first and Vijay Singh behind him. Retief Goosen and Ernie Els each climbed one space as Phil Mickelson slid two spots to fifth this week. Sergio Garcia and Jim Furyk remained sixth and seventh this week.
Behind Toms, Adam Scott dipped one to ninth and was followed by Colin Montgomerie, Chris DiMarco and Angel Cabrera, who all fell one space.
Kenny Perry was up one to 13, while David Howell and Michael Campbell both tumbled two spots to 14 and 15. Luke Donald was down a space to 16th.
Padraig Harrington, Darren Clarke and Davis Love III remained unchanged from last week, holding steady in the 17th, 18th and 19th positions. Paul McGinley rose one notch to 20th, bumping Tim Clark down to 21st.
Chad Campbell shared second behind Toms with Rory Sabbatini. Campbell jumped eight spaces to 30th, while Sabbatini climbed 19 spots to 52nd.
