PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Tiger Woods may have three victories this season and he may lead the money list and he may be one of the world’s most famous athletes, but on Tuesday he sounded like just about any other guy who had to listen to his girlfriend.
Woods was on site at The Players Championship after attending the Met Gala with girlfriend Lindsey Vonn one night earlier.
“It was certainly different,” he said of attending the ritzy charity gala. “Lindsey wanted to try and grow her brand. She’s come out with a new perfume and makeup line, so that was a big thing for her, and I’m supporting it. Certainly, as you know, I’m not really big into fashion stuff, so that was pretty neat.”

When asked whether he’d be attending more of these types of galas in the future, Woods joked, “I don’t know. We’ll see. Maybe I can just go in jeans and a t shirt or something.”
That was hardly his best line of the day.
When it was insinuated that Woods may not have attended a red carpet event if this was the week of a major championship, he disagreed.
“Yeah, I have,” he said. “I’ve gone to the Golf Writers dinner at Augusta.”
