It’s not known yet what title Morgan will have, but it’d be surprising if it wasn’t on the defensive side and working with the linebackers. The 27-year-old spent the last two seasons working with the Fighting Illini under head coach Bret Bielema, and Illinois has been one of the better defensive teams in the country over the past few years.

The teams also claimed kicker Jake Verity off waivers and released linebacker Grant Morgan. Luton was signed less than a week ago as a camp body. With C.J. Beathard locked into the backup role, EJ Perry should play all four quarters of Jacksonville’s final preseason game.
