Dolphins traded up with the Eagles to select Utah OG Isaac Asiata with the No. 164 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Miami swapped picks with Philly in the sixth round to move up two spots in the fifth. Asiata (6’3/335) made 42 starts on the Utes’ line -- 31 at left guard, seven at right guard, and four at left tackle. He earned the Morris Trophy as a senior, an award voted on by Pac-12 players given to the conference’s top offensive lineman. Isaac is the younger brother of Matt Asiata. Turning 25 in December after an early-college Mormon mission, Asiata is an over-aged interior-line prospect who wins with nastiness and toughness and possesses plus strength, repping 225 pounds 35 times at the Combine. Asiata projects as a power-blocking guard or center.
