De Jesus Jr.

De Jesus Jr. has hit .235/.337/.325 through 194 plate appearances in the minors in the White Sox’ and Twins’ organizations this season. He hasn’t played in the majors since 2016.

De Jesus was released by the White Sox after batting .238 with a .664 OPS over 76 plate appearances this season at Triple-A Charlotte. The 32-year-old infielder hasn’t appeared in a major league game since 2016.

The 32-year-old caught the attention of the White Sox after posting a .306 batting average and .409 on-base percentage through 44 plate appearances this season with the independent Long Island Ducks. De Jesus will presumably be stationed at Triple-A Charlotte. He hasn’t appeared in a major league game since 2016.

DeJesus could be out for a month or longer if the tear is severe. The 24-year-old infielder batted .188/.235/.188 in 35 plate appearances last year in the majors.

DeJesus tore his right oblique in mid-March and is likely to miss the first month of the 2012 season. The 24-year-old middle infielder will presumably be sent to Triple-A Albuquerque once he’s back to full health.

DeJesus is making progress, but he’s unlikely to be a realistic option for the Opening Day roster at this point. The 24-year-old infielder batted .188 (6-for-32) in 17 games with the Dodgers last season.

DeJesus suffered a torn muscle on his left side in spring training and had been rehabbing at the Dodgers’ spring training complex. He’ll figures to be optioned to Triple-A once healthy.

De Jesus didn’t start, but he had a game-tying sac fly as a pinch-hitter in the seventh and then the go-ahead double in the ninth. One would hope it might earn him a start in Wednesday’s game. De Jesus doesn’t have much of a bat, but he is a fine defender, especially at second base. Odds are he’ll get a start and Adam Kennedy will sit against the left-hander in the series finale.

DeJesus suffered a torn muscle on his left side in spring training but is now healthy. He’ll function as a utility man as long as Mark Ellis is sidelined.

Acquired from the Dodgers in last month’s megadeal, DeJesus has batted .273/.324/.364 in 23 big league games this season. He’ll provide infield depth.
