Wisconsin DB Jack Ikegwuonu will have his ACL surgically repaired Thursday.
He’s been waiting for the swelling to go down after getting hurt in January. It’s hard to imagine Ikegwuonu being drafted higher than the seventh round.

Wisconsin DB Jack Ikegwuonu will enter the 2008 NFL Draft.
The 6'1/199-pound college corner is viewed as a potential free safety at the next level. He started 29 games in three years for the Badgers and picked off six passes, but past off-field issues could cost him a spot in the first two rounds. Ikegwuonu was charged with felony burglary as a sophomore.

NFL early entrant Jack Ikegwuonu tore his ACL, MCL, and damaged his kneecap while training Tuesday and will not play football in 2008.
Apparently it’s not a good year to be in the NFL Draft. There have also been a ton of injuries at the Senior Bowl. Ikegwuonu, a college corner moving to safety, blew out the knee while pulling a sled designed to improve speed. At best, he could hope to go in the seventh round and be stashed on I.R. in ’08.

ESPN’s Len Pasquarelli reports Wisconsin early entrant Jack Ikegwuonu’s knee injury is limited to his ACL.
For some reason, Pasquarelli is all over this story, even though a healthy Ikegwuonu was only going to be a borderline first-day pick. The injury was originally reported as a torn MCL, ACL, and damaged kneecap. Ikegwuonu will have surgery in the next two weeks and is highly unlikely to be drafted.

The court date for Eagles CB Jack Ikegwuonu’s November, 2006 arrest has been moved back to July 2.
Ikegwuonu is still facing felony residential burglary and misdemeanor criminal trespass charges after allegedly stealing a video game console at Northern Illinois.

The burglary trial for Eagles CB Jack Ikegwuonu got underway Monday.
Ikegwuonu is charged in a November 2006 home invasion while visiting his brother at Northern Illinois. Prosecutors say Ikegwuonu and his brother broke into a townhouse and were trying to steal an Xbox. The trial shouldn’t affect Ikegwuonu’s chances of being the Eagles’ fourth cornerback this season. He’ll also avoid NFL discipline because the incident happened in college.

Closing arguments in the burglary trial of Eagles CB Jack Ikegwuonu are scheduled for today.
Ikegwuonu, who testified on his own behalf, is accused of breaking into a town home and trying to steal an Xbox. Ikegwuonu should find out fate his shortly. He’s expected to add depth to the bottom of the Eagles defensive backfield this season.

According to agent Drew Rosenhaus, burglary charges against Eagles CB Jack Ikegwuonu have been dismissed.
Ikegwuonu was accused of breaking into a town home and trying to steal an X-Box while in college at Wisconsin. The Eagles reportedly love Ikegwuonu’s talent, so he may have a chance to contribute as a dime corner and special teamer this season.

Eagles GM Tom Heckert confirmed that Sheldon Brown will enter training camp as the team’s starting right cornerback.
Ellis Hobbs and Jack Ikegwuonu are going to give him a push, but Brown was arguably the Eagles’ top pure cover man last season. Still, with so much depth the Eagles could give Brown more breathers, limiting his statistics.

    Eagles released CB Jack Ikegwuonu.
It’s a little bit of a surprise. Ikegwuonu was a first-round talent that had knee problems, was taken in the fourth round and then had some minor legal problems that proved to be nothing. He’ll almost certainly get some interest from other teams like the Bears.
