Browns signed Miami OG Javion Cohen.
Cohen (6’4/324) spent three seasons at Alabama after joining the Tide as a four-star recruit from the 2020 class. He would start in 25 of the 31 games he appeared in for the Tide from 2020 through 2022, but moved on to Miami for the 2023 campaign. A stout lineman along the interior who played at a heavier weight in 2023 than he did in 2022, Cohen has the size to play in the NFL, but it may come at the cost of less speed and athleticism. Cohen underwhelmed in athletic testing at both the combine and Miami’s pro day, earning a RAS of 5.58 that puts him at just above average as far as interior athleticism goes. He may need to shed a few pounds if he hopes to compete at a high level this offseason.
  • Alabama received a verbal commitment from four-star 2020 OL Javion Cohen, previously pledged to Auburn.
Cohen (6'7/275) had been in Auburn’s corner since the summer, but reports surfaced on Wednesday that the TIgers had pulled their offer on the Phenix City, Alabama, native. He wasted no time in flipping his allegiance to Bama. Cohen will sign with the Crimson Tide next Wednesday barring an unexpected development over the next few days. On the 247Sports composite board, Cohen lands as the No. 342 overall prospect in the 2020 class.
  • Auburn received a verbal commitment from three-star 2020 OL Javion Cohen.
Cohen (6'7/275) gave his verbal commitment during Auburn’s annual recruiting weekend called Big Cat Weekend. He’s the No. 19 prospect from the state of Alabama and the No. 33 offensive tackle prospect from the class of 2020. Cohen was once committed to South Carolina but reopened his recruitment earlier this spring. He is Auburn’s 3rd commitment from the class of 2020 and helps fill a big hole for the Tigers.
  • Uncommitted three-star 2020 OL Javion Cohen will take official visits to Auburn and Florida in June.
Cohen (6'5/275) will take his Auburn official on June 1, with his Florida official to follow two weekends later, on June 14. He was committed to South Carolina earlier this spring, but reopened his recruitment in mid-April. LSU, Oklahoma, Florida State and Oregon are all programs which Cohen has expressed interest in visiting over the coming weeks. The Phenix City, Alabama, native has set his commitment date for Aug. 21. On the 247Sports composite board, Cohen ranks as the No. 19 prospect in the state of Alabama for the 2020 cycle.
  • Uncommitted three-star 2020 OL Javion Cohen set his commitment date for Aug. 21.
Cohen (6'5/275) was committed to South Carolina for a short spell earlier this spring, but backed off that pledge on Tax Day. The Gamecocks very much remain in his thoughts, though, and he was off on an official visit to the program this past weekend. Beyond USC, Oklahoma, Florida State, Florida and Auburn are all among the programs who could be major factors during the summer. Look for Cohen to put out a list of his top squads in May. On the 247Sports composite board, the Phenix City, Alabama, native ranks as the No. 449 overall prospect in the 2020 class.
  • Three-star 2020 OL Javion Cohen has verbally committed to attend South Carolina.
Cohen (6'5/275) picked South Carolina over a host of offers from SEC programs, including Alabama, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Texas A&M. The Gamecocks offered the Phenix City, Alabama native in January, with the versatile offensive lineman informing HC Will Muschamp of his decision on Sunday. “I sat down, thought over all the schools, and I could tell you something I didn’t like about them, but with South Carolina, there was nothing I didn’t like,” Cohen told Chad Simmons of Rivals.com. “I knew right then that it was time call coach Muschamp and commit. It hit me, and I knew it, so I had to get coach Muschamp on the phone.”
