Jets signed fifth-round ILB Jeremiah George to a four-year contract.
George lacks prototypical size for a 3-4 inside ‘backer, but is an explosive athlete with a chance to develop into a quality sub-package defender with sideline-to-sideline range and cover skills. The Jets need to begin thinking about life after David Harris. Demario Davis has also been fairly underwhelming.

Jets selected Iowa State LB Jeremiah George with the No. 154 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.
George (5-foot-11 1/4, 234) broke out as a senior to earn first-team All-Big 12 honors, leading the conference in tackles (133) with 12 for a loss and three forced fumbles. George shook off an injury-marred Combine to run a forty in the 4.6s at the Cyclones’ Pro Day with an explosive 10-foot-9 broad jump and 38 1/2-inch vertical. George is short, but plays with suddenness and could grow into a starting weak-inside linebacker. He’ll open his career on special teams and try to earn snaps in the nickel.

Buccaneers claimed LB Jeremiah George off waivers from the Jaguars.
A 2014 fifth-round pick, George is now on his third NFL team after originally being taken by the Jets with the 154th overall selection. George is an undersized (5'11/234) weak-side linebacker prospect with special teams value.

Bucs re-signed exclusive rights free agent LB Jeremiah George to a one-year, $600,000 contract.
George was a 2014 fifth-rounder of the Jets but bounced around a bit before latching on with Tampa last season, appearing in 15 games as a key special teamer.

    Jets waived ILB Jeremiah George.
George was the 154th pick in May’s draft. The highly athletic Iowa State product loses his roster spot to WR Walter Powell, who was claimed off waivers.

Jaguars signed ILB Jeremiah George and TE Nic Jacobs.
An undrafted free agent out of small-school McNeese State, Jacobs was on the Saints’ practice squad. An ex-Jet, George was the No. 154 pick of May’s draft. He’ll slot in as a reserve linebacker and special teamer for the rebuilding Jaguars.
