Jordan Bone was waived by the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.
Bone was waived to make way for the team to sign Frank Mason to a two-way contract. He appeared in 14 games for Orlando, averaging 4.0 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 0.2 turnovers in 14.0 minutes.

The Magic have signed Frank Mason to a two-way contract, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Orlando’s backcourt has been hit hard by injuries this season, hence the Mason signing. He won’t offer much in the way of fantasy value, so there’s no need to even consider the possibility of rostering Mason. In order to free up a spot for Mason, the Magic will need to waive either Karim Mane or Jordan Bone. Bone is currently serving as Cole Anthony’s backup, so Mane may be the odd man out.

  • Michael Carter-Williams (left foot) has been ruled out for Monday’s game against the Knicks.
Carter-Williams injured his foot in early January, and he is still in a walking boot. When he will be able to return remains unknown, and his absence has opened up backup point guard minutes for Jordan Bone. Bone isn’t worth rostering, regardless of league format.

Jordan Bone played 27 minutes off Orlando’s bench on Friday, making 4-of-8 shots for nine points with three rebounds, one steal and one 3-pointer.
The Magic have lost four straight games and they’re staring at four consecutive road games, beginning with Saturday’s tilt vs. the Nets. They came into this game without seven players who might normally be in their rotation, including season-ending injuries to two franchise pillars (Markelle Fultz and Jonathan Isaac), with Fultz’s injury opening a window of opportunity for Bone. With minutes in the teens most nights, though, nothing suggests he’ll be of use in typical fantasy leagues.

Jordan Bone played 28 minutes off Orlando’s bench on Friday, chipping in seven points, four assists, two rebounds and one 3-pointer.
Most of his minutes were garbage time. If you’re in a deep league, grabbing Bone or Michael Carter-Williams makes some sense. However, the absence of Markelle Fultz mostly empowers rookie Cole Anthony as the starting PG, supported by Evan Fournier and even Aaron Gordon handling the ball, plus more halfcourt offense flowing through Nikola Vucevic. The Magic will even experiment with big lineups, according to coach Steve Clifford, so it’s hard to see MCW or Bone helping managers in 14- or 12-team leagues.

Former Pistons guard Jordan Bone has agreed to a two-way deal with the Magic.
He was in the G League for most of last season and didn’t do much in his 10 games with the Pistons. And we expect more of the same this year in Orlando.

The Pistons will not be extending a qualifying offer to Jordan Bone, making him an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
Bone spent most of his rookie year in the G League, and he wasn’t all that impressive in his 10 outings with the Pistons, but maybe he’ll be able to snag a training camp deal somewhere.

Derrick Rose underwent an MRI on his sprained right ankle which returned negative and he’s expected to make a full recovery, but will be reassessed in a few weeks.
Rose came down awkwardly on his right ankle on a drive to the hoop on Sunday night. Now we learn that it will be a few weeks before he’s even re-evaluated. With Detroit no longer in playoff contention, they have zero reason to rush their veteran back into action. Consider there is just over a month left in the regular season, it wouldn’t be shocking if Rose remained sidelined for the rest of 2019-20. With Bruce Brown (left knee contusion) also out, Brandon Knight should see all the minutes he can handle at PG moving forward. Jordan Bone could re-enter the rotation as well.

Jordan Bone scored six points with three rebounds and two 3-pointers in five minutes against the Bucks on Thursday.
It was all garbage time here for Bone with the Pistons getting blown out. It’s possible Bone can emerge as an option for the Pistons once Derrick Rose and/or Brandon Knight miss games, so he could be someone to watch in deep leagues as one of the most athletic rookies in the league.

Coach Dwane Casey said Jordan Bone will have to earn his minutes in what his now a thin PG rotation.
“Svi [Mykhailiuk] can play there some. Tony Snell is quietly playing a lot of pick and roll for us,” Casey said about the point. “We have Jordan Bone coming up from the G League and I’m sure we’ll have some 10-day looks at some point.” Bone put up some of the better athletic numbers at the combine over the summer, and Bone’s stats in the G League help his case with 18.3 points, 3.5 boards, 7.1 dimes, 0.6 steals and 2.6 treys on a 45/41/78 shooting line. It’s not a bad idea to stream him in deep leagues for Thursday and go from there.
