    Steelers waived LB Jordan Zumwalt.
Cuts are coming. Zumwalt hasn’t played a regular season snap since arriving as a sixth-round pick in 2014. The Steelers also placed fourth-round OT Jerald Hawkins (shoulder) on I.R. They’ll need to trim their roster to 75 by Tuesday.

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette believes Jordan Zumwalt is “more suited” to play inside linebacker.
Bouchette thought it was worth mentioning because Zumwalt has been listed at outside linebacker. Zumwalt didn’t play as a rookie after suffering a season-ending groin injury in training camp. If healthy, he’ll compete with Sean Spence and Vince Williams for scraps behind Lawrence Timmons and Ryan Shazier.

Steelers signed No. 192 overall pick LB Jordan Zumwalt to a four-year contract.
Zumwalt (6-foot-4, 235 pounds) showed flexibility in UCLA coach Jim Mora’s 3-4, spending time at both inside and outside ‘backer. Zumwalt ran 4.76 at the Combine with a 33-inch vertical and 9-foot-8 broad jump. An aggressive, highly competitive player without elite athletic traits, Zumwalt fits best in the NFL as a strong-side defender. He’ll start off as a special teamer.
