Packers selected Penn State CB Kalen King with the No. 255 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
A four-star cornerback from the 2021 prep class, King (5’11/190) has a twin brother, Kobe, who is a starting linebacker for the Nittany Lions. While his brother redshirted as a freshman, Kalen played in 13 games, logging 279 snaps and making one start before taking over a starting role in 2022. King experienced a meteoric sophomore year rise allowing a 46% completion rate with a Big Ten leading 21 PBU and three interceptions, while earning the fourth-highest PFF cover grade in FBS. With King having achieved Second Team All-American honors, he projected as a first round selection in almost every prominent mock draft in the country heading into the 2023 season. He failed to deliver on the expectations, allowing a 61% completion rate with a concerning 56th% cover grade and just two PBU in 481 snaps. Exacerbating concerns is King’s 4.61s 40-yard dash. With an average physical profile, King will need to make waves in camp if he intends to carve out a meaningful NFL role.

Penn State freshman CB Kalen King will see the field Saturday against Wisconsin.
King (5'11, 183) has been impressive this offseason and it’s earned him the chance to get in-game action this season. In April, King was rated as the 24th-best corner in the recruiting class by 247Sports. His brother, Kobe King, is also on the team though Kalen has been heralded as the better overall player to this point. Kobe was listed as 20th by 247Sports among outside linebackers.

Penn State received a verbal commitment from four-star 2021 CB Kalen King.
Kalen was one of three commitments the Nittany Lions picked up on Friday, and one of the other commitments -- Kobe King -- is King’s twin brother. Kalen is considered the better prospect, and you can tell the two a part on size (Kalen is 5-foot-11, 170-pounds, Kobe is 5-foot-11, 223). Wisconsin was considered the biggest challenge for the brothers, but they also considered Iowa, Arkansas, Michigan and Michigan State; among others. Kalen is rated the 24th best corner in the class by 247Sports, while Kobe comes in 20th among inside linebackers.
