Kalin Lucas is signing a two-way deal with the Pistons.
He’ll bring some depth to the PG position in Detroit but will spend most of his time in the G-League. In other words, he’s irrelevant in fantasy hoops. Zach Lofton will be cut to make room for Lucas on the roster.

The Magic announced on Thursday that they signed G Kalin Lucas to a contract.
Details of the deal were not released, but it’s safe to assume that it’s a non-guaranteed contract. Lucas played briefly for the Grizzlies back in 2014-15 and has bounced around Europe and the G-League in the years since. He’ll likely spend most of next season playing for Orlando’s G-League affiliate.

Contrary to reports over the summer, Kalin Lucas has not signed with the Qindao Eagles of the Chinese Basketball Association.
David Pick is reporting that Lucas auditioned with the Eagles over the summer, but did not sign a contract with the team. Whether or not he signs with Qindao, it’s pretty evident that Lucas won’t be playing in the NBA for now and can be ignored by fantasy owners.
  • NBA Point Guard #24
Kalin Lucas has signed with Qingdao Eagles of the Chinese Basketball Association.
Lucas had a previous stint with the Grizzlies, but has played just six total minutes in the NBA. It goes without saying that fantasy owners can leave Lucas off their draft boards.
  • NBA Point Guard #24
The Grizzlies have waived G Kalin Lucas.
Lucas was brought in to serve as emergency depth for the Grizzlies, but only managed to play for five minutes, missing his only shot and recording one steal. He’s not likely to sign on with another team.
  • NBA Point Guard #24
Kalin Lucas will play for the Grizzlies on Wednesday.
The Grizzlies do not have a backup point guard, which explains why they brought Lucas on. He might actually get some minutes, but he is still not a fantasy option.
  • NBA Point Guard #24
Free agent PG Kalin Lucas has reportedly agreed to a training-camp deal with the Grizzlies.
The 25-year-old averaged 13.9 points and 4.6 assists per game in the D-League last season, following a two-year stint in Europe. Fantasy owners should ignore him, as he’s unlikely to make the regular-season roster.

The Grizzlies waived Kalin Lucas and Patrick Christopher on Saturday.
They are expected to join the D-league and both are off of the fantasy radar.

    Grizzlies sign G Kalin Lucas.
This news doesn’t mean much for Lucas in fantasy circles, but it should cause some alarms to go off for Mike Conley owners. Lucas’ signing is likely just insurance for Conley after he aggravated his sprained ankle during Monday’s win over the Pelicans, but his owners will want to monitor his status closely heading into Wednesday’s game in Phoenix.
