Kyle Allman Jr. shot 8-of-21 from the floor and 4-of-5 from the line for 24 points in a win over the Clippers on Saturday, also chipping in seven rebounds, six assists, three blocks, four 3-pointers and six turnovers in 36 minutes.
The Heat was down 18 at one point, but he had it going for most of the night and hit a dagger triple late. Allman Jr. played four years at Cal State Fullerton and averaged 17.5 points in his final season and he’s trying to get onto a roster. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen, but his stellar effort tonight sure didn’t hurt. Keep in mind that the Heat were without Nikola Jovic, Omer Yurtseven, Marcus Garrett and others, which gave Allman Jr. some extra run, so this is yet another box score of the night to take with a grain of salt. Dru Smith had his fair share of nice plays and managed 22 points with two steals and a block in 29 minutes off the pine.
