Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh said on Monday that he expects sophomore DB Daxton Hill to return to practice later this week after suffering an undisclosed injury during Saturday’s win at Minnesota.
Hill departed Saturday’s game early due to injury and did not play during the second half, leaving the Wolverines a bit light in the secondary. But the expectation is that the sophomore safety will be able to practice later this week, which opens the door for him to see action when the Wolverines face in-state rival Michigan State. Freshman Makari Paige filled in for the injured Hill against Minnesota, and he had his issues (which isn’t a surprise given his inexperience).

Michigan received a verbal commitment from four-star 2020 S Makari Paige.
Paige (6'3/182) picked the Wolverines over Kentucky, Ohio State and Penn State, becoming the 24th verbal commitment in Michigan’s 2020 class to date. Of those 24 commits three are safeties, a position that Jim Harbaugh and his staff needed to address in this recruiting cycle. Paige, a rising senior at West Bloomfield HS (West Bloomfield, Michigan), has the frame needed to add some more weight once he gets on the Michigan campus. Paige, Jordan Morant and RJ Moten are the other safety commits in Michigan’s 2020 class, and all three are versatile enough to be used in a variety of ways by DC Don Brown.
