The Braves have moved 2010 first-round pick Matthew Lipka from shortstop to center field.
The Braves made the decision after Lipka adjusted well to the position during the instructional league. The 19-year-old batted just .247/.305/.304 with one home run, 37 RBI and 28 stolen bases over 128 games with Class A Rome this season. Youth is on his side, but he’s going to need to hit more to have a legitimate future in the big leagues.
