Former Kent State junior K Matthew Trickett transferred to Minnesota.
Trickett did not get to do a whole lot of kicking in 2020 due to the condensed season. However, the previous season, Trickett nailed 29-of-34 tries, including 10-of-11 in the 40-49 yard range. Alas, Trickett went 0-for-2 beyond 50 yards in 2019 and has never attempted a 50-yarder in any other season, but he’s still pretty darn solid before that range. Trickett will have two years to play with the Golden Gophers.

  • Kent State sophomore K Matthew Trickett made all four of his field goals and both of his PAT’s in Saturday’s 26-3 win over Akron.
Trickett (6'0/191) was responsible for all of Kent State’s scoring in the second half, as he made field goals of 43, 45 and 43 yards in length. On the season, the sophomore has made 11-of-14 field goal attempts with a long of 45 yards. Trickett is also 14-of-14 on extra points, and his 47 points rank third in the Mid-American Conference (first among MAC kickers). Trickett and the Golden Flashes play Ohio next weekend.
