Nationals acquired RHP Adam Olbrychowski from the Yankees for OF Justin Maxwell.
The 24-year-old Olbrychowski began his professional career as a starting pitcher, but he has primarily been a reliever over the past two seasons. He posted a 3.90 ERA and 56/28 K/BB ratio over 67 innings between High-A Tampa and Double-A Trenton last season. He didn’t rank in the organization’s Top 30 prospects, according to Baseball America, but made some nice strides with his command last season.
