Giants designated outfielder Adam Shabala for assignment.
Shabala is the one member of the group of players the Giants designated for assignment who could conceivably be claimed off waivers, but it’s still quite unlikely to happen. The 27-year-old hit .273/.341/.456 for Triple-A Fresno and went 3-for-15 with four RBI for the Giants this season.

Adam Shabala collected his first major league hit today, a two-RBI single off Tigers starter Mike Maroth.
He also singled again later in the contest. He won’t be in the majors long and is short on talent, so he’s not worth claiming.

Giants purchased the contract of outfielder Adam Shabala from Triple-A Fresno.
Shabala, 27, was batting .287/.352/.489 in 56 games for Fresno. He won’t hurt the Giants as a fifth outfielder for a couple of weeks, but there’s not a lot to like here.

Giants reassigned OF Adam Shabala, RHP Jeff Miller, RHP Billy Sadler, LHP Jonathan Sanchez, RHP Brian Wilson, C Todd Jennings and INF Derin McMains to minor league camp.
Shabala went 3-for-15 in a couple of brief stints with the Giants last season. With Jason Ellison and Todd Linden ahead of him, he wasn’t considered for a spot as the club’s fifth outifelder.

Giants invited OF Adam Shabala, RHP Joe Bateman, RHP Justin Hedrick, RHP Jeff Miller, RHP Billy Sadler, RHP Brian Wilson, LHP Jonathan Sanchez, C Todd Jennings, C Brian Munhall, INF Brian Buscher, INF Tomas de la Rosa, INF Kevin Frandsen, INF Derin McMains, INF Pablo Sandoval, INF Jake Wald, OF John Bowker, OF Brian Horwitz and OF Clay Timpner to spring training.
Shabala made his major league debut with the Giants last season, going 3-for-15 with four RBI. He’ll be a longshot candidate to win a spot as a reserve outfielder. Sadler, a reliever, has the best chance of any member of this group of making a real contribution.

Padres signed outfielder Adam Shabala to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.
Shabala, 28, made his major league debut with the Giants in 2005 and hit .277/.376/.412 with Triple-A Fresno last season. The Padres will have no shortage of better reserve outfield candidates.
