Alexander Albertus, one of the prospects the White Sox acquired from the Dodgers in Monday’s three-team deal, is expected to miss the rest of the season with a stress reaction in his left tibia.
Albertus, who was playing at low-A Rancho Cucamonga, has been sidelined since Friday due to the injury. It’s not expected to turn into a long-term concern beyond this season.

White Sox acquired 3B Alex Albertus, 2B Jeral Perez, and INF/OF Miguel Vargas from the Dodgers as part of a three-team trade.
Albertus is an under-the-radar prospect but Baseball America had recently moved him up to be the 15th-ranked prospect in the Dodgers’ system. His contact and chase rates are elite and his in-zone swing decisions are tremendous, which has led to solid results in the minor leagues so far. His max exit velocities so far have shown the possibility of plus power as he continues to fill out his frame, so there could be some serious offensive potential here down the road.
