Rangers re-signed INF/OF/C Alex Burg to a minor league contract.
The 29-year-old is a valuable minor league depth piece with his ability to play both corner outfield and both corner infield positions, as well as catcher. After a strong 2015 season, his offensive performance fell off a cliff in 2016 though, slashing just .215/.281/.363 with seven homers and 38 RBI in 299 plate appearances between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock.
